Righty or Lefty?

Are you a righty or lefty?

I've always been interested in what hands people favor because I am ambidextrous. However, I am a little better with my right because my parents are a little old-fashioned and didn't like me using my left hand when I was little. Therefore, the left side of my body is a little weaker, but I can still use it better than most people.

I grew up doing most tasks with my right hand, but I have very little difficulty getting used to doing things with my left hand such as playing tennis and writing (now that my parents no longer force me to use my right, except for eating and shaking people's hands lol).

I like using my left and being ambidextrous, it makes me a little more unique than the average person. :D

EDIT: When I say ambidextrous, I mean REALLY ambidextrous. It doesn't really count if you can only do one or two things with the other hand -_-

Hehe, that's cool. I can do virtually anything with my left. When I play tennis, I switch hands in the middle of the match and end up confusing the crap out of my opponent.

I haven't played that much with my left though, so my stroke is a little weaker than the right. I played only with only my left against my friend on Friday in a 1-set match, I managed to win 7-5..which is pretty decent seeing as I've never used just my left in a match.

I don't know how to play a guitar, but I periodically switch between lefty/righty settings for the mouse.

I never tried writing or playing videogames with my feet..never seemed practical to me haha

I'm a Saiyan living on Earth and I have a monkey's tail, but don't tell anyone! :P

I don't know if my feet would be able to wrap around a PS3 or 360 controller though..I might be able to pull it off with something without the shoulder buttons like a NES, Genesis, or SNES controllers.

I'm a confused ambidextrous type person.

Lefty for writing, either for throwing, and right for batting though left for racquets.

I'm a righty, but according to my optometrist I am naturally a lefty and was forced to use my right hand as a child. Don't ask me how he came to that conclusion because his answer didn't explain much.

Well the poll still has barely any votes and I guess we ambidextrous folks just tend to stay up later. Not sure why somebody would lie about their dominance though.

It was a GC controller, but I don't doubt I can pull it off with a ps2 controller. I'll probably try again another time. I don't feel like doing it right now.

The GC controller fits like a glove in your hand, so it must have felt like a comfy sock or something. The PS2 controller would be a bit more awkward I think. It also depends on what kind of game we are talking about, I think.

I want to try it, but I share my games with my brother..and I don't think he would want to touch the controllers after I put my feet all over them lol

Dunno why you want to write with your left..most languages are designed to be written by a righty and are easier that way.

It's easier to write with your right hand and your writing flows better (in English) because rightys pull when they write and lefty's have to push and pulling is much more natural. Also, most lefties (that I've seen) have horrible form when they write. It's easier for me to write a left to write language with my right hand, but much easier to write a right to left language with my left.

In everything except hockey and golf, I am right handed.

My brother is like that, he plays hockey lefty sty1e (he's righty for everything else though). I play righty.

I could probably do both, but since the end of the hockey stick is curved in one way, you can't exactly switch whenever you want >_>

I do a lot of stuff with my right hand, but I'm mainly lefty.

I am right handed. I fail miserably when I try to write with my left hand ;_;

I don't know what it is about women, but you ladies have such good handwriting!

I can write with both hands, but neither of them are really neat. They are both legible (but still a little messy) if I put some care into it. But if I'm rushing and/or don't care, it might turn out like a doctor's handwriting. :P

Ever since I've started I haven't really experience any hiccups at all, still am able to function quite normally. I think I've gotten so use to it to the point when I am doing simple things like reach for things or open door I would naturally use my left hand rather than right.

The reason I am doing this is because ever since I was a kid, I've come across quite a few lefties and they are all very intelligent in some way. I figure if I started using my right brain more often I would be able to become more or less like these folks one day :oops:

But I do noticed things are designed in a way that is more suitable for righties... sometimes I do feel bad for the lefties who have to put up with this.

Some also say it can cause stuttering if you force it since it messes with your brain

Really? I didn't know that Miss Sajedene.

Either way, it would be pretty hard (I think) if you forced yourself to change your handedness..I wouldn't know though. The best time to do that would be when you're young and your brain is still really flexible. If you're an adult, it would take months or even years to get that done..and you'd probably have to tie your dominant hand behind your back or something to prevent yourself from relying on it.

LOL scissors really are freakin annoying if you try to use your left (unless you're lucky and find some lefty scissors), you can't see where you're cutting >_>..It wouldn't be too big of a deal for you and I though since we can use both hands lol

I think it would be a pain in the butt for a pure lefty to have to start a lawn mower (it it's the kind where you start by pulling the thing), those are hard to start even with my stronger arm sometimes! Idk though, they might have left handed lawn mowers lol.

You must be talented indeed..most people I know don't eat with their hands. Personally, I tend to eat with my mouth.

Right handed on... well, everything.

Though I became somewhat decent at typing with just my left hand, when I had tendinitis in my right wrist, and wasn't allowed on the computer. oh, and to add to the feet thing... I tried that with videogames a time or two... beat my brother in one of the old WWF games for the n64. He never played me again. :(

Edit: ooh! ooh! I can also clap with my feet. :D
