Not as bad as the 1994 riots it seems, but still, the fans are not reacting in a very good way.

As much as I like sports, it's pretty pathatic when someone does this because the team they're routing for loses. At least they made it that far, seriously...
People like this make me want to start the world over. To the people who were or are rioting, tell me, why?SLS97Ran out of maple syrup. :(
Well I'm certainly glad that I didn't go downtown tonight, I had a feeling this might happen. It's really sad and tragic...there's some real idiots out there.
I left my group before the game ended and got the eff outta there.....really disappointed by the loss though. The bias in the officiating makes me sick...Well I'm certainly glad that I didn't go downtown tonight, I had a feeling this might happen. Officiating didn't make Vancouver's powerplay stink. I'm not sure they WANTED to be on the powerplay. Boston was as dangerous short-handed as the Canucks were on th PP in this series. As for the refs, they let a lot go on both sides throughout the series. It certainly wasn't a clean series.
What do you expect when it's a team that fails year after year? Most of the fans only become fans when they go "Wait what? The Canucks might actually win something? ZOMG"lol I live in Vancouver and I'm sooo happy the Canucks lost. Most of those people are probably the MANY who just recently hopped the Canucks bandwagon. Vancouver has to have the worst sports fans on the planet.

As for the riots, well, i heard some people were even throwing Poo, and they flipped a cop car.
People need to realize it's just a game, and a week from today, no-ones going to care.
good riddance. between the repeated attempts to injure Bruins players with headshots, Burrows biting Bergeron's finger, arrogance, and sense of entitlement to the stanely cup, i was happy to see Boston defeat the Canucks in a landslide victory. But this is absurd. These fans are making the beautiful city of Vancouver, which was such a great and hospitable host for the Olympics out to be some kind of trashy ghetto. it's no wonder they're one of the NHl's most hated teams.
Burrows biting Bergeron's finger

This is the most laughable complaint, and i've been hearing about it since it happened.
If you're playing a sport, and you put your hand inside someone's mouth, dont QQ if they close their mouth.
Also, why was Bergeron's finger in Burrow's mouth in the first place?
And dont they wear like 1" thick gloves? It couldn't have hurt.

it honestly confuses me how people can act as if it was only one team trying for blood during this series. Both teams played like angry little kids earlier in the series.good riddance. between the repeated attempts to injure Bruins players with headshots, Burrows biting Bergeron's finger, arrogance, and sense of entitlement to the stanely cup, i was happy to see Boston defeat the Canucks in a landslide victory. I'm quite sure Trailer Park Boys did that years ago.Well, on the plus side, at least this dispels the myth that all Canadians are annoyingly polite... :P

i think this is just the rsult of many years of the nucks dropping the ball. they could of had it all ,but tried to pull off too much fancy crude which led to the bruins our playin them . the team has good players ,but i feel it needs more restructuring and imo the coach we have currently isnt helping. its also the polices fault for not being prepered enough. everyone knew win or lose that there would be chaos down town
At least one good thing came out of this rioting, and that's this video.

There is a really funny part where some guy charges into a porta-potty and some other guy standing on it falls and lands on his head. Havn't got a link but hopefully someone will post it, its hilarious.
This is like the rivalry between Pakistan and Indian sports teams.. it's rediculous the player of the losing team almost always have to go into hiding for a few months until everyone calms down. Speaking of which, does anyone know which one won that soccer tournament a few weeks or months back?
Mayor of Vancouver - "We had a great run in the season, lots of celebration but tonights actions are despicable. This does not represent the city of Vancouver".
Lets just hope the rest of the world believes this statement...
It was a small group of idiots that came with the intent to do damage. Absolutely pathetic... I am not proud to be from vancouver today... This is not how canadians roll.

I could have not said it better myself. I really hope that this crushing defeat causes most vancouverites to reconsider their priorities in worshipping some sports team that doesnt even represent our city much (after all they're just a bunch of hired professionals, how does that represent "vancouver" at all)
It wasn't a small group by any means lol...I was in there in the thick of it. It was just insanity.Mayor of Vancouver - "We had a great run in the season, lots of celebration but tonights actions are despicable. This does not represent the city of Vancouver".

Watched the news footage a few hours ago. Those people who are throwing rocks at riot cops deserve to get their skulls bashed in. I hope they got the bastards. This may be extreme, but I really hope the idiots responsible and actively partaking in the vandalisms and assaults were seriously injured, arrested and generally beat the hell up by the police. Killed, even. They have nothing important to be taking violence into the streets over and so I side with law enforcement on this one. Rights and freedoms be damned. You're trashing a city over a hockey game, you don't deserve to live in the city or be on this earth. If the police fired live ammunition at the obvious guilty party, I'd say good riddance. Hooligans who riot for the sake of rioting need to be put down.
What's the big deal, Canadians Riot over hockey all the time. Hell, Montreal will riot when it's still the regular season.
I kinda laughed this off when I first saw it, but then I saw a photo of a Canadian throwing a canister of tear gas back at a cop and I realized holy ****, this is a real riot. Some people need to get their priorities straight. There's no need to riot, just get completely ****-faced, throw up all over a bar's bathroom floor, sneak out before they notice, then go bar-hopping until you pass out like a normal person.
