Really?
It's sad he got such a brutal beating but, no one should feel entirely bad for him. Oh yeah, RIP, or whatever. People die everyday. MickeyTheNinja
Oh no doubt, Rodney King was not a good person. The cops were still total pieces of garbage though and the fact that they were acquitted is fvcking ridiculous.

Exactly, they should have been fired on the spot.Call me surprised. Well, almost, he wasn't that great of a person in the first place and he was already in trouble for other crimes when he was beaten (doesn't excuse the officers in what they did).
I remember the beating and I remember the riots that followed the acquittal of the officers (I was in Atlanta at the time). I'm aware most of OT wasn't born yet when it happened so I'm not surprised most don't know who he was.
Surprised you didn't post a link, TC.
Didn't know who he was, born in '93, until I google'd him. I guess its always sad to see someone go, but the man wasn't anything great as a man. He was a symbol for police brutality, and symbols never die.
I dont get all the love for this guy. He beat a store owner over the head with an iron pipe and robbed him, and was two and a half times over the limit when he decided to get into a high speed pursuit with the police. Sure it's scummy that they beat him, but i doubt it'd be a whole lot different if he were white.Ninja-HippoDuh.. that's exactly the point... He would not have been beaten if he was white. And I wouldn't expect you to understand what someone like rodney king could mean to acommunity. Dude was a symbol for police brutality and a justice system against minorities.

Dude was a symbol for police brutality and a justice system against minorities. The issue with the Rodney King beating is how the media handled it. My memory is a little fuzzy on the media reports because I was ten when the beating took place but i remember as clear as day the riots right outside of my door. Also, the 1992 movie Malcolm X showed the beating footage at the same time they were burning an American flag into an X at the beginning as an example of discrimination against blacks. I didn't even find out the crimes King did until several years later, the media pretty much made it look like he was some angel who was innocent. It wouldn't surprise me if the beating and the later acquittal of the officers helped contribute to OJ being acquitted in his murder trial.[QUOTE="Ninja-Hippo"]I dont get all the love for this guy. I never said a white person wouldn't been beaten, what are you talking about?Chris_WilliamsAre you sticking to that story?
like someone has already said, if he was white it wouldn't have gotten beat like that Chris_Williams
Rodney King was a scumbag who beat women, gave drugs to kids, and once got the crap kicked out of him, when he reached for a cops gun after being pulled over.
After he got his butt kicked, a bunch of his fellow scumbags rioted and murdered people.
Good riddance, you piece of ****.
...got the crap kicked out of him...Born_LuckyTo be fair at least that gave white America some lols.
