Jesus. Soon tanks and vehicles will replaced with mecha. The only thing is that they we won't have a large amount of them for quite some time.Zaeryn
No, tanks and vehicles need to be replaced by high tech tanks and vehicles.
A Mech or gundam won't be a choice of travelling normally.

Not for traveling, but for fighting purposes I think a gundam would replace vehicles such as tanks. Though we won't see large amounts of them that can actually fight for at least a few decades.Japan is secretly making a Metal Gear. :o the_foreign_guy...it can't be!
Just watch... they'll get one of these to finally start moving like a Gundam, and Godzilla will come and show his stuff.
Wait a second... if it can only walk, then why would they spend nearly a billion dollars creating it? I think they should wait until our technology improves, since it won't have much purpose other than being an attraction. Zaerynyou can still do soem massive damage with a huge ass walking Gundam

NetYankEagleyou can still do soem massive damage with a huge ass walking Gundam Hmm... not really. A gundam is powerful as hell, but without weapons it can't do too much. Can't they develop a huge rifle for the gundam or something that it can use with its hands? Assuming it can move its fingers and arms and hands and such. Maybe I'm just getting ahead of technology right now, but we'll eventually end up with Gundams that can fly and destroy anything. Damn... that's going to be awesome when they use Gundams for fighting.
Bazooka: $200
Giant Robot: $725 million
Blowing up all of Japan's hard work in a split second: Priceless
And that's why we won't see robot armies for some time.
Whatever. Gundams have weapons. That just looks like an expensive publicity stunt. Here's how a conflict would go between Japan's gundam and any other army.
Lieutenant: "Sir, they have a giant metal robot that's slowly lumbering across the field. It can't fly because it's too heavy and no engine can give it that much lift and we don't see any visible weapons."
General: "Really? Fire a single missile."
*missile fired*
*explosion*
General: "Well...that was easy".
i once read somewhere that the university of MIT is making a "Mecahnical Superfighter" that can leap buildings, deflect bullets, heal its own wounds, and also go "invisible" somehow. now thats something to see
