I just saw clemens on 60 minutes and thought I'd ask

clemens was accused in the George mitchell report by his former trainer Brian Mcnamee of taking roids and HGH

clemens says he was only injected with painkillers, lidocaine, and vitamin b12

Guilty.

Pitchers don't reach their peak until their mid 30s? Lol, come on.

Guilty. You can tell just by reading his eyes and facial expressions.

Guilty as hell. The whole vitamin thing is BS. He will have to appear in front of Congress in a little while, that should clear everything up to some extent.

I am as big a Yankee fan as you will find and I don't buy a word of Clemens' denial. The credibility of the source and the quick response by Andy Pettitte both point toward his doping. Also I find it hard to believe that anyone would enjoy more success from 35-45 than from 25-35, the human body doesn't work that way. I want to believe him and I hope that he can prove he is innocent, but based on the evidence I find that his position is that of a person who is cornered and wants to salvage his legacy. With all of that said, I don't think any action should be taken against Clemens or anyone who was find to use HGH or Steroids before MLB specifically banned them. Their usage may not have been right but discplining them only benefits the users that weren't caught.

What I want to know is why is congress investigating sports rather than solving ya know, actual problems.

I have never been a Clemens fan but I will say "guilty but he doesn't deserve to be harshly punished". I think he did it, knows he did it, and is lying through his teeth. At the same time I think the fact that he did win a Cy Young in 1998 and 2004 both before and after he was said to be using shows the guy is a great pitcher with or without drugs.

Guilty. In his last 79 starts for the Sox he went 40 Wins 39 Losses. Then, suddenly when he gets shipped to New York, he gets amazingly better.

His records are tainted and i hope they asterick him just like they should asterick bonds.

Every baseball player is guilty. They all did it, whether or not they actually admit to it. Back when performance enhancing drugs were okay, they all were shooting up. 80's and 90's.

He is guilty, you want to know why?

Any doctor will tell you.

You do not inject lidocaine into your butt.

Why?

If you've been to the dentist and have had novocaine (its in the same family as lidocaine), you inject it into the area that needs to be numbed, its a local anesthetic. When you go to the dentist, you get it in your gums, so it numbs them and the surrounding areas.

If he was going to get lidocaine injected to relieve pain, it would be injected into the joint, or wherever, that is causing him pain.

He can lie all he wants now, but when he's in front of Congress, he better start telling the truth.

I don't know about anyone else, but anytime I go to the doctor (or the hospital, but haven't been too often) you always ask specifically what they are giving you and why, that is if they don't tell you in the first place. You don't just bend over or put out your arm and let them inject you with stuff...
