This is extracted from his Farewell to Congress address.

Excessive government has created such a mess it prompts many questions:

  1. Why are sick people who use medical marijuana put in prison?

  2. Why does the federal government restrict the drinking of raw milk?

  3. Why cant Americans manufacturer rope and other products from hemp?

  4. Why are Americans not allowed to use gold and silver as legal tender as mandated by the Constitution?

  5. Why is Germany concerned enough to consider repatriating their gold held by the FED for her in New York? Is it that the trust in the U.S. and dollar supremacy beginning to wane?

  6. Why do our political leaders believe its unnecessary to thoroughly audit our own gold?

  7. Why cant Americans decide which type of light bulbs they can buy?

  8. Why is the TSA permitted to abuse the rights of any American traveling by air?

  9. Why should there be mandatory sentences even up to life for crimes without victims as our drug laws require?

  10. Why have we allowed the federal government to regulate commodes in our homes?

  11. Why is it political suicide for anyone to criticize AIPAC ?

  12. Why havent we given up on the drug war since its an obvious failure and violates the peoples rights? Has nobody noticed that the authorities cant even keep drugs out of the prisons? How can making our entire society a prison solve the problem?

  13. Why do we sacrifice so much getting needlessly involved in border disputes and civil strife around the world and ignore the root cause of the most deadly border in the world-the one between Mexico and the US?

  14. Why does Congress willingly give up its prerogatives to the Executive Branch?

  15. Why does changing the party in power never change policy? Could it be that the views of both parties are essentially the same?

  16. Why did the big banks, the large corporations, and foreign banks and foreign central banks get bailed out in 2008 and the middle class lost their jobs and their homes?

  17. Why do so many in the government and the federal officials believe that creating money out of thin air creates wealth?

  18. Why do so many accept the deeply flawed principle that government bureaucrats and politicians can protect us from ourselves without totally destroying the principle of liberty?

  19. Why cant people understand that war always destroys wealth and liberty?

  20. Why is there so little concern for the Executive Order that gives the President authority to establish a "kill list," including American citizens, of those targeted for assassination?

  21. Why is patriotism thought to be blind loyalty to the government and the politicians who run it, rather than loyalty to the principles of liberty and support for the people? Real patriotism is a willingness to challenge the government when its wrong.

  22. Why is it is claimed that if people wont or cant take care of their own needs, that people in government can do it for them?

  23. Why did we ever give the government a safe haven for initiating violence against the people?

  24. Why do some members defend free markets, but not civil liberties?

  25. Why do some members defend civil liberties but not free markets? Arent they the same?

  26. Why dont more defend both economic liberty and personal liberty?

  27. Why are there not more individuals who seek to intellectually influence others to bring about positive changes than those who seek power to force others to obey their commands?

  28. Why does the use of religion to support a social gospel and preemptive wars, both of which requires authoritarians to use violence, or the threat of violence, go unchallenged? Aggression and forced redistribution of wealth has nothing to do with the teachings of the world great religions.

  29. Why do we allow the government and the Federal Reserve to disseminate false information dealing with both economic and foreign policy?

  30. Why is democracy held in such high esteem when its the enemy of the minority and makes all rights relative to the dictates of the majority?

  31. Why should anyone be surprised that Congress has no credibility, since theres such a disconnect between what politicians say and what they do?

  32. Is there any explanation for all the deception, the unhappiness, the fear of the future, the loss of confidence in our leaders, the distrust, the anger and frustration? Yes there is, and theres a way to reverse these attitudes. The negative perceptions are logical and a consequence of bad policies bringing about our problems. Identification of the problems and recognizing the cause allow the proper changes to come easy.

I'm all for prohibition, but there will have to be some negotiations between the states and the federal government before that happens, to avoid conflicting laws.

I suggest you actually put some discussion in your posts weedface, rather than posting random articles and memes.

Technically, he isn't launching drug raids on legal facilities . According to the federal legal system there aren't any "legal"marijuana facilities.

Or perhaps just let the states decide their own drug policy and leave the federal government out of it. Besides, this whole "War on Drugs" is costing billions of taxpayer money and has created more problems than solutions in this country and parts of South America. In fact, the whole reason to why is started is questionable.

Also Obama could have chosen a DEA administrator that would be more tolerant of state's rights but instead chose a hardliner to fight the War on Drugs. I don't see the federal government ever negotiating on these matters. However, I could be wrong. I do know that the Colorado Governor was planning to talk to the feds on this issue so who knows.

So basically what you're saying is that since you don't want to use drugs, it should be illegal for everyone to use them.

My thoughts pretty much. Some points are valid, but at times Ron Paul is completely oblivious to the real issues. My biggest problem with Paul and his supporters is how they posit their definition of liberty (i.e. the government pretty much not regulating anything) as the penultimate moral standard in a society regardless of the consquences. For them there is no good answer to why the government is restricting anything, regardless of if there are good reasons for some things (e.g. the sale of raw milk) and no reasons for other things (e.g. the manufacture of certain hemp products).

What? When did I say I supported the government's Orwellian policies. Just because the war on drugs has been a failure doesn't make it any less CORRECT. Oh so you believe Heroin, Cocaine, LSD should just be sold in legal tenders? Come on all drug-heads are the same, making up unrelated crap in desperation in order to somehow shoe-horn in why drugs should be legal. (E.g ITS NATUREL!!!, BU BU BU TEH WAR FAELED!, EXTRA INCOEM FOR GUVMINT:cry: ).

Admit it. You just want to get high. Stop piecing fragmented BS reasons. Just admit you want to get high, you'll make more sense.

Admit it. You just want to get high. Stop piecing fragmented BS reasons. Just admit you want to get high, you'll make more sense.

you don't get it do you? the only illegal drug I've done is marijuana, i bet over 90% of the people in this forum at some point will drink alcohol, one of the most dangerous and addictive substances, yet it's their right to put whatever they want in their own bodies. just because i don't like what someone might use doesn't mean it should be illegal, tobacco alone kills hundreds of thousands of people and yet i respect their (stupid) choices. also, making something illegal doesn't stop people from getting those drugs, right now i could get any drug i want and yet I only smoke weed. just because alcohol is legal doesn't mean everyone is an alcoholic.

[QUOTE="weedfacekilla"] like believing the government can save you from yourself. i guess personal responsibility is something of the past. also, the war on drugs has been a complete failure, the government can't make you a better person.mingmao3046

So you support putting non violent "criminals" in jail, wasting tax payer dollars?heroin, cocaine, and lsd can be used responsibly.

the green part is irrelevant to the conversation.

As for the orange part. So what? Anything can be used responsibly, doesn't mean it will be.

Try harder troll

sure bud, but i am not a troll, i believe you have the right to put whatever you want in your body, why you can't respect that same decision for others is really mind-boggling
