He got owned...i prefer kickboxing though..:P..i don't follow it or anything...but when i see it on i enjoy watching it..
[QUOTE="rawsavon"]Old...too old He used to be the best pound for pound...one of the best of all time...he was Manny before Manny But time to retire...like years agosolidte
well both fighters were old :P
To be honest, I really don't know anything about the other fighter. But Roy was my favorite boxer for a long time. -i saw him at his height -and I saw his skills diminish...could not watch these last several years of him fighting...just depressingRoy Jones Jr was an amazing boxer and great champ. WHY CAN'T HE JUST LIVE WITH THAT and retire with his legacy still in tact?
Damn, this is a litte harsh I mean he's no where as good as he used to be but he is 5-2 in his last 7 fights...

That failed a long time ago... :(
Why must you remind me??? I have actually started to ignore his career. I was such a huge fan and I can't stand to watch him do this to himself hahah. Maybe he should trywritingmore terriblerap again

A win's a win. If he can collect a paycheck and still defeat opponents I have no problem with that. We're not the ones who should control his legacy, Roy is.

Both are old, but i guess that extra four years Green has on him is enough not that i'm disregarding his win as just a age thing, a win is a win :P
That is Roy Jones Jr's wake up call, the same one Ali had in his own last fight. It's time to step aside, Roy.
This just breaks my heart. Roy is and always will be my favorite fighter of all time. I've been a fan of him since I can remember, and he, just like many others in professional boxing, has stayed in the sport too long. TC has ruined my night. =(
Ali should've quit long before his last fight. After the third Frazier fight him and Frazier should've quit. That is Roy Jones Jr's wake up call, the same one Ali had in his own last fight. It's time to step aside, Roy.

Yeah, but a lot of people have wanted to see that fight for over 15 years. I would be rooting for Roy because he would need a win more, and it'd be nice to see him leave the sport kicking ass like the way he came in.He's been done for a while now. The dude still fights like when he was at his prime, Roy doesn't have that quickness or speed anymore so it's easier for people to lay one on him. The whole fight(lol 1:30) he had the left hand by his waist providing zero protection from a right hook, which was the one that knocked him down. In his younger days he was quick enough to cover up, and pretty damn fast to answer with a counter..those days are over Roy.
Now that Green won I honestly hope this shuts Mundine up about being the greatest Australian sportsman of all time (not boxer, SPORTSMAN).
[QUOTE="b1lal"]I didn't expect that. I guess he is way past his prime.joel_c17he has a glass jaw He doesn't have a glass jaw. I've seen him take a lot of shots and shrug them off easy. He's old, and your punch resistance wears down over time.

Yeah, they both took insane amounts of punishment that night. I imagine their bodies abilitiy to regenerate from taking blows just completely plummited because of that fight. There was an awesome article in a recent Sports Illustrated on Freddie Roach. Basically he said that he has witnessed the exact point of this happening to so many of his fighters. When Roach's own trainer told him that he had reached the point in which he needed to retire, he responded with "**** off" and kept fighting anyways. According to him that is why he is in the current condition that he is and why he felt he needed to fill out his will. I have massive respect for all of these boxer's will to keep fighting but even more respect for certain boxers who had the will to retire when necessary. That being said I really don't want to see Pacquiao retire after his next two fights

I in no way said that we should control his legacy -I said he sucks now (compared to himself)...fact -you said we were being harsh, that he was 5-2 -I pointed out it was against crap opponents If all he cares about is a paycheck, that's cool...work till your brain is mush I just said that he was sheel of his former self, and his fights are painful (for me) to watchWhat can I say? Jones is past his prime and only getting older. I still love the guy, and he's still good, but he's not the top dog anymore. A good performance by Danny, but it's still saddening to see Jones go down.Setsa
