So here is the deal:
1. I want a tattoo (waited till I was old to make sure)
2. I want a quote
3. I want it in a foreign script

Here is where I need OT's help
Problem:
1. Finding a script that I like/looks good on my body
2. Suggestions for tattoo location
3. Need to make sure it is written correctly (ultimate douchebag move if it is not)

The Quote:
Language has created the word "loneliness" to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word "solitude" to express the glory of being alone.
-Paul Tillich

I figured with all the great foreign (non-US) users that maybe you guys could suggest some scripts with examples

EDIT
MOST IMPORTANT PART OF POST
Due to the fact that I am a dumbass and neglected to mention this I will do it here and now

I need to make sure that it means the same thing in the 'new' language...that it is not just translated words...but that the words carry the same meaning/weight
-otherwise I am just some DB poser...well more so than now

If I would want a quote in a foreign script, I would want it to represent apart of my ancestory. The back or the pec would be an ideal location on my body.

I could translate that quote in french if you want me to. It's not exactly foreign script, our alphabet is the same, but still, if you're interested, I can do it.

Hmmm, I know a lot of people have tattoo in Chinese, but I'm not sure how'd all that fit anywhere on you

I'm thinking if the phrase is short it could go on your arm (my preference if I'd ever decided to get one), or it could go on the back (fit more stuff but couldn't see it myself)

hmmmm

I don't know. Seems like if you want someone to actually read the whole thing, assuming they know the language, it would have to be on your back or chest. Unless you don't care if they read it and have it wrap around a limb somehow.

Probably across the shoulder blade area on your back, just below the neck.

As for what to put there, no idea

Hm...

In Greek loneliness is translated to μοναξια and solitude to απομονωση but that is more synonymous to isolation.

So yeah its tough to find exact synonymity or even close enough.

Language has created the word "loneliness" to express the pain of being alone. And it has created the word "solitude" to express the glory of being alone.
-Paul Tillich

rawsavon

Η γλώσσα έχει εφηύρει τη λέξη "μοναξιά" για να εκφράσει τον πόνο του να είσαι μόνος. Και έχει σκαρώσει τη λέξη "απομόνωση" για να εκφράσει το μεγαλείο του να είσαι μόνος.

Thats my attempt.

Should I write down how that is pronounced. Unless you want only languages that use the latin alphabet.

But anyway imo Greek doesnt work here because like I said απομονωση has connotations that "solitude" doesnt have such as the connotation of it being forceful. Not necessarily but it is used like that many times and it does affect its meaning.

So I cant really contribute. :(

Actually they are synonyms in English too. Hmmm.... Which is pretty much why Raw has to stick with the entire quote. Unless, like I mentioned before, one can figure out a way of putting a visual distinction between the two words rather than the entire quote.

There are a plethora of fonts for the English language. Either way, it's the words that matter. I understand why people choose not to have English written, but it's just so cliche now. That's just me I guess.

Yeah I mentioned in my edit that even though "μοναξιά" is a perfect match for "loneliness" the word I used for "solitude" has the connotation many times of it being forced and it doesnt have that bitter-sweet feel of the word "solitude". It's much closer to "isolation". Unfortunately I cant find any other synonym. :(

In Chinese, yes both have a fairly similar meaning as they do in English. But it would be a bit odd to have that tattoo onto oneself, Chinese definitely won't do it

My suggestion is that you choose a dead language for the "loneliness" script and a living language for the "solitude" script. Then you can focus on putting different types of decoration around the two words.
