Saddest Anime Scene

What's the saddest scene you've ever seen in an anime? I'd have to say the death of the Merry Go. One Piece has a lot of tragic plotlines, but that one was really sad. Also when Hughes died in FMA was pretty sad, though still not as bad as the Merry...

On a side note: Ash is the worst Pokemon trainer ever. He could've just put it in the storage computer at the Pokemon Center but NOOOoooOOO, he had to let it go like some moron.

Well i was watching this horrible (not badly made) anime that just was so depressing. Their were tons of scenes. Like when that young girl got raped. Had to turn it off when that scene happened. But by far it would have to be when this 7 year old got shot and killed. Nothing from any other anime has yet to compare.

If you haven't watched Zeta Gundam, my personal favorite series, I suggest you do. The last few episodes are unrelievedly grim.

but I am REALLLYYY suprised nobody has mentioned the end of cowboy bebop! :cry:

Well, he completes his destiny, and he joins all the most important people of his past in death.....but we lose one of the most likeable characters ever!

Nearing the end of Trigun, in which Wolfwood encounters his old master and [spoiler] gets into a massively epic double machine gun battle with him, kills him off but dies in the church from the injuries, much to the dismay of milly [/spoiler] GTR2addict

Several scenes of NGE, most notably the ones envolving Misato and Kaji, especially the last scene regarding their subplot.

The only anime I have ever really liked was Dragonball Z so I dont really know that many sad scenes. The saddest scene I can think of is when Vegeta is killed by Frieza and he starts crying while talking to Goku.
