Hi guys, I'm about to purchase a new mobile since my old Omnia decided to drop on the ground and die just the other day.

I'm using an even older nokia 6630 right now in the meantime.

I was set on gettin the new Iphone but then I noticed the huge price drop for the Samsung Omnia 7 (here in europe at least).

No brand no contract ships for as little as 240 Euros nowdays, 16gbs version.

While the Iphone 4 16gigs is still 620 Eurosat least.

Which one would you buy? Is it worth the extra 400 bucks?

Thanks in advance.

ps-sorry mods about the double post (other one in the mobile section) but I noticed that board is pretty much dead

I got an omnia 7 the other day after having an iphone. I defiantly prefer the omnia 7, the phone looks great, the AMOLED screen looks great and really bright, the touch screen is really good and responsive. The windows 7 OS is really good too and it looks great. 1 warning tho if you want to watch youtube on it... you can but its not very good. Microsoft are taking Google to court over it!

the Omnia 7 is not at all similar in any way to the old Windows Mobile Omnias. And the iPhone sucks.

Get a Nexus S.

How is the camera?

I hear web surfing is nice on the omnia. Wp7 does have copy&paste now after the update, right?

it uses the same oled touchscreen as the samsung galaxy s, which is amazing. I think both shouldn't disappoint you, but if you have the money for the iphone then by all means go for it, if you have others things to buy then go for the omnia. I'm not sure I would pay an extra 400 for the iphone though.

I believe the update was in march, and IE9 is coming to the device later in the year, which should fix any problems with browsing. I don't own it so don't know about the camera.

The only dual core Android out is the Lg Optimus Dual, at least here.

Galaxy S 2 isn't out yet.

The iPhone 4... worth $400 more than other phones?:lol::lol:

Go Android. For the love of God. Avoid Apple products like the plague. You can't even load your own custom music onto the phone, everything has to be downloaded through iTunes.

No, it's not like that..

it's just incredibly more expensive than the Omnia7 right now. Well, honestly it is overpriced by a 20-30% margin over most other high-end devices..

For example:

Omnia7= 240E

Galaxy s= 330E

Optimus dual= 440E

Nexus s= around 500E

Iphone 4 16gb= 620 E

I'd go for the galaxy s out of this roster but it doesn't have camera flash, which is a big deal for me.

If it's not Android or Galaxy S, it's probably the wrong phone.

Ah, I forgot that the international Nexus S doesn't have the S-Amoled. The S-LCD will be a bit sharper for text as it doesn't have a Pentile Pixel matrix, but it loses the awesome colors and black levels. Nexus S gets updates straight from Google so it will be the first to new versions of Android, Galaxy S gets them from Samsung who are nowhere near as fast. I've got a Galaxy S Captivate and honestly either phone is a pretty good choice. Have any dual core phones coming out in your area soon?

Which dual core phones are already out in the Us?

I think the only one out right now here is the Optimus Dual. The galaxy s2 is bound to come out in a matter of a couple of weeks I think.

I'd wait for more dual-core Android phones to arrive.

I wouldn't settle for a single-core CPU when so many awesome phones are just around the corner.

I think i'll just gonna go with the Omnia 7 for now, it's real cheap, not to mention I need a decent phone asap. Omnia 2 wasn't the best for websurfing or emails, but it did its job.. Screen was good, one of the first amoled ones I believe?

I'm really intrigued by Android, but about the dual cores.. aside from gaming, what are the real benefits of having one?

A dual-core CPU will improve performance for everything you do. Not just gaming. Dual-core CPUs give you much better performance while consuming less energy than a single-core.

I bet it's very useful for multitasking and to assure a lagless ui experience on Android devices.

Ordered the Omnia 7 for 240E shipped. I hope it's gonna get here by tuesday.

Looking forward for a cheap Galaxy S 2 though.
