SAT Score

Whats a good SAT score?

I'm taking it tomorrow, and Im pretty curious. I did take a mock SAT test and recieved a score of 1560.

Critical Reading: 560
Writing- 480 (8 on the essay)
Math- 490

That score is about the norm. It's an average SAT score. It isn't the best but also not the worste by any means. This kid I go to school with supposedly got a 2200. I think it's complete BS because he's like a stoner/steroidic freak, but hey, it could happen I suppose.Ghost_702

My friend got a perfect, and a scholarship to MIT.

As for the score, take your reading section and your Math section and add them together to look at the score colleges look at, median is like 1000-1300

I haven't even taken the real SAT yet, and I haven't really done much studying at all for it specifically

I know a ton of druggies who are actually very smart.

I got a 1400 my first go around, but I got another test coming up tomorrow. Hope I get a better score.

a perfect score would be teh best thing ever, but i doubt that'll ever happen.

so add the critical reading with the Math?

1560 is average. I know a lot of people who did not bother studying, and are underachieving because of it. Make sure you put in the effort to study; keep trying practice problems and working on essay writing techniques (time management, clear thesis statement, using personal examples). Your score will almost certainly increase.

Good luck. I took the SAT in October (got a 2110), and I can tell you that if you study you will be fine.

They still do SAT? My Univ. prefers ACT.LukeAF24

They offer both. I took both. 2080 SAT, 33 ACT.
