I've only taken the SAT, but I agree that the whole standardized testing is stupid.Neither..Both are pretty worthless tests for the most part.
I've taken both.

Neither I think both test are very flawed and I am glad more and more colleges are not making SAT/ACT scores a factor in their choices
I preferred ACT as it tested my actually knowledge about hard facts and numbers in science, vocab, and math. Then it tested my reading comprehension. I didn't like the SAT because it didn't feel like a real knowledge test to me. It didn't challenge me to think except for the math part. It is also why midwest schools stopped using the SAT because ACT scores generally translate to better college aptitude.
[QUOTE="t3hrubikscube"]I took both. I hated the ACT. That science section is so awful. It's just...kind of poorly done. I definitely preferred the SAT. I'm not sure which one I found "easier" though. I got a 32 on the ACT and a 2100 on the SAT. Not bad scores...though not great either.the_ChEeSe_mAn2Considering how a top mark for ACT is 36 and 2400 for the SAT, I'd say you have done extremely well considering the average ACT score is 20 and SAT score is 1500. It's more about what you're aiming for. Most academic scholarships require around at least something above a 30 on the ACT or 2100 on the SAT and many higher-tier public and privates look in the range of at least something above a 32 ACT or 2200 SAT. Of course, the average person can aim for something lower and be just fine.

Well in my post I was referring to how t3hrubiksscube thought that she didn't do well on her tests, when academically, she practically aced them. That said I did awful on my ACT but good enough on my SATs to get into the university I wanted.
Well, here is my personal experience with both tests.
ACT - took two times. 33, then 34. Overall the fact that you can guess without losing points makes the whole thing a lot easier than the SAT. Plus, the science section makes the whole thing a joke, because the science section should be called the "Can you interpret this graph or table correctly?" section, because that is all it is.
SAT - took once. 2110. Much harder. Math especially. This math section had more actual critical thinking/problem solving than theACT which seemed to be much more basic. The addition of a penalty for guessing also requires you to be more confident in your answers.
Although there are some people who score higher on the SAT, the majority of the people i have known definitely do higher on the ACT, although this is skewed because i only have a select group of people i know that have taken both tests.
ACT i guess. Although I hated the science section.mrmusicman247Dude the science section was so easy! There was barely even any science it was just like reading comprehension w/ science theme.
depends on the what worth is seen in them. if they are used by admissions officials then it's worthwhile since scores correlate to college performance very well. and they want ppl that will do well.Neither..Both are pretty worthless tests for the most part.
I've taken both.

Well thanks! Not that it matters now (I'm in my second year of college), but I remember being very disappointed to the point of not even applying to a few schools because I felt so discouraged. I of course regret that now because it would've been better to at least try, but oh well. That's another subject entirely. :)A 32 is in the 99th percentile. Granted, the financial aid goes up steeply with each additional point, but a 32 will still get you into most schools.
I didn't find either test to be particularly good in assessing the knowledge of the taker. That said, I absolutely hated the ACT and would recommend the SAT over it.

A 32 is very good, out here in the midwest, it well get you a regional scholarship into pretty much all the universities.
I took both of them about 4 years ago.
I really don't think either of them is any better, but I think I did better on the ACT.
I liked the SAT better the one time I took it. I hated the ACT, it was not interesting at all. By the time I would get to the science section I was always burnt out so I never made higher than a 27 (compared to over 30 in everything else 36 in math, 35 in reading, 31 in english)
well the only one of them Im going to be taking is the ACT so that (I plan on staying in the midwest for college, either goin downtown chicago or to Columbus community)
