This is the sort of thing the UN needs to intervene in and say "hey, thats BS! That guy needs to actually be punished and made example of so no one else does anything similar". If they government refuses then the US should punish them, sanctions, blocking off their trade etc. We live in modern day.. this sort of thing should never happen, and when it does it shouldn't be tolerated.

I'm an ex-Muslim as well, and while it's hard to see my older Islamic family members as that bloodthirsty, I do fear something similar from them in the back of my mind. (They're from Pakistan, though.)
This is making my stomach turn. All I heard from this story so far is that he killed his daughter. Under Islamic law he deserves the death penalty and I've heard his wife is pushing for it (other family members probably objected, which explains the blood money). Judges in KSA have been under intense scrutiny for years prior to this inhumane incident. Aside from the fact that they are understaffed, judges have no guidelines to follow and usually pass verdicts based on their own judgement no matter how illogical it may seem. There could also be corruption involved in this case. Hopefully this will be the unfortunate tipping point that will finally get the authorities to act on this inhumane bullsh!t They've embarrassed us long enough. Goddamn it.
