Ewan Mcgregor did an excellent job as Obi-Wan

Okay so joke aside, getting to see the different worlds was cool.

These.
The 3rd one was pretty cool...especially the fights between General Grievous and Obi Wan and of course the last fight and scene with Vader.
I quite liked them, probably because I don't have the nostalgia glasses that all the people who saw the original trilogy in the theatre like to wear. Yeah, there was a bunch of campy/goofy/unnecessary fluff in them, but that's Star Wars...
I thought Revenge of the Sith was actually pretty good. Grievous was cool and I thought they handled the battles between Yoda/Palpatine, and Obi Wan/Anakin quite well.
Darth Maul was awesome, seeing Yoda fight was awesome, and Episode 3 was decent.
Not really a big Star Wars fan though and that includes the original trilogy. Never really got the hype.
Ewan Mcgregor and the look Anakin has in his eyes when he goes to slaughter yunglings and later duels Obi.
Jar Jar Binks.
For the record you guy, I was never on the hate train on Jar Jar, pretty much never had a problem with him to me, he was just there. It would be nice if someone can explain to me why the character was hated so much over a decades now.
Heck I thought the KID who played Anikin was a lot worse than Jar Jar (although I HATED Jar Jar's voice - SHUDDER)!
The battle scenes were better. And I liked Natalie Portman better than Carrie Fisher. Plus Christopher Lee made an awesome villain.
ewan mcgregor, liam neeson and christoper lee did an amazing job with what they had.
the battles were also better. its kinda strange watching all 6 back to back. it seems both battle skill and technolgy regress the further into the series you go. :S. the light saber battle between darth maul, jin and obi-wan was awesome to watch at the time. the rest of the movie put me to sleep but i woke up for that bit.
it would be nice to see a reboot (proper reboot....BSG type reboot. if die hards arent sending death threats then its not a reboot type of reboot :P) of the whole thing to be honest. its a great idea and there are a lot of themes and ideas that could be developed further (and its a dam fine excuse for more light saber action and pew pew pew!!!.....ahem). its just 1,2 and 3 had horrible execution and 4,5 and 6 have aged badly.
hopefully they bring Ewan Mcgregor back if the rumored Obi-Wan spinoff trilogy happens
Hadn't heard of this before...
The fights.
I quite liked them, probably because I don't have the nostalgia glasses that all the people who saw the original trilogy in the theatre like to wear. Yeah, there was a bunch of campy/goofy/unnecessary fluff in them, but that's Star Wars...
Phantom Menace was the first Star Wars film I ever saw and I left the theater thinking, "this is what you guys have been so hyped about?" And that was when I was like 14 or 15, the prime age for this stuff. It doesn't take nostalgia to recognize that a movie stinks.
Uh...
Uhhh.........
They had pretty CGI effects?
That's about all I can come up with.
Most of what good came out of those movies was the EU stuff like comics, TV shows, games and whatnot. Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace video game had a story that made more sense than the movie... and it was based on the movie FFS.
