Make a list of the school nicknames you remember and explain them:
Cold Milk: that's mine (because of my light skin colour compared to my classmates). And I still don't understand what has to do colour with temperature.
Ass-scraper: what he did was what he was called for.
Dumbo: what you suppose.
Apple: Apple was his surname.
Giraffe: he was taaaaall.
Dirty head: she had dirty head.
Sharon: a he, but he liked to cross his legs in a very special way.
Mr. Chewing Gum: always chewing.
Mr. Nails: always chewing, too.... his nails.
BeeJones: a girl that couldn't pronounce well 'Beyoncé'.
In general, those nicknames were accepted by their owners.
What do you think about nicknames? Are they always offensive? Even if they are kinda offensive, can they be well accepted as a familiar or affectionate word?
I think sometimes are fun, sometimes aren't. It depends on the intention one has when saying it, and it depends on if the nicknamed feels good or bad about that.
