Ok, A fight is about to break out at school. My friends involved in it. He has a record of fights so I try to break it up. As im pulling them away from each other a teacher walks into the bathroom. To make a long story short, Me, my friend, and the other guy get tickets and have to go to alternate schools.

While I was waiting in the office, literally 20 people (this was in the lockerroom bathroom, its pretty big and there are alot of people in PE), many of whom Im dont know that well, come to my defense on their own free will and say I was doing the right thing and just trying to stop it. I still get a ticket and am currently fighting it.

A kid once got expelled because he fought someone else who hit a girl right in front of him. He did the right thing and still gets in trouble. Whats up with this? Cant the school atleast stand up for something good instead of trying to be on evertones side?

They're just trying to inforce a "No Tolerence" policy and a lot of the times they feel everyone involved should recieve punishment, no matter the cause, to show they stand strong and firm with the policy...

Yes, we are unequal in both the physical and mental sense. SOul-wise i think we are the same. Its just a fact of life. Not saying one is better than the other, they are just different in certain ways. Anyway, do you think that women shouldnt be treated with respect?

Zero-tolerance policies are pretty stupid, in their entirety. I could go on for a long time on how flawed they are, and it baffles me at how those policies got put in place in the first place. It's essentially saying that it's okay to apply absolutely no judgment in a situation besides the one person "in charge" that says who was involved in the fight.

I also have similar feelings, but in the schools respect, they probably don't get very fair judgement from high school kids testimonies on what happened. Many kids will just choose their friends side and you'll never get a good recognition on what happened and who started what. I'm not saying that I support the program, but it does make sense.

In a straight fist fight, no, I will not help him. And to your comment above, we are different in every way except for the way God sees us(soul-wise). There is no weaker or stronger on the physcologic level, just difference.

Women are weaker then men on average, fact.
If a man hits a women I'm going to help the lady, but I hear her before claiming how women/men are excactly the same then I'll let let her handle it herself...

Both men and woman are the same in the sence that a girl can definitly be able the defend herself as much as a guy can. when you say that men are physically stronger naturally it doesent matter because that doesent mean that a girl cant lift weights or anything. when you say that you excpect a girl to be weak its a steriotyped view on woman that they arent interesting in being physical. but i can see were your coming in that sence, most parent would probly raise their little girl to be a "girl" and their little boy to be a "Man".

That happens way too often, really. But also what trodeback says kind of makes sense too, because the process of applying some kind of judgment is often flawed. For me however, the question stays: It is better to apply a possibly erroneous judgment, or a completely erroneous punishment?

its because of this zero tolerance crap. no exceptions, if you were involved, your getting punished. most schools/districts do it so that they dont have to deal with any legal bs. basically theyre making life harder for you so its easier for them. its total bs.

You have to realize that as soon as you walk through the doors of a school you are entering a police state. Most schools are ran like North Korea. So glad I never have to return to one.

3rd story i disagree with you. girl got hit, so what. are you accepting the fact that genders are unequal, that woman are "weaker" and should get special treatment?

no but it doesnt mean ur not an @$$hole for doing something like that...what if the girl wasn't a fighter? what if she got sucker punched?

that doesn't mean you promote more violence and fight even more. the guy isn't a "hero" because he "saved" the girl, he just made the situation worse

That's how world is no matter how much you try to defend someone, hitting them is off limits, because no one has any real rights to do that....the best thing you could've done is to pull your friend back or if that didn't work even if you didn't want to be the bastard that rat out on them you had to, because the administrators are the ones who are payed to break up fights...or something along that line

They are generally biologically weaker. Are you going to punch someone weaker than you? Are you going to sit there while a stronger person beats the crap out of a weaker person?

I think making sure the girl is okay would suffice. There's little point in starting a fight over it, because it's pretty obvious that the school won't tolerate it.

Yes I am, because I do not know the circumstances and background which caused the fight. I would tell them to stop, avoid fighting as much as possible.

Unfortunately the topic this was meant to be (that the skool system is flawed) is true . But even worse it doesnt stick just to skool. In western australia (maybe the whoel of australia) aboiriginals have special rights. The other night i saw one hit a security guard and the security literally ran away. I think its becoming pretty pathetic.

as i've said in another post, i'm not talking about size and strength, i'm talking about female social/psycological status. plus there are two sides to this story. yes, it was nice of the guy to stand up for the girl, but what he did was promote even more violence. and whether he was standing up for a guy or girl shouldn't matter

You would have to be one weak*** to stand and watch a girl get beaten up. Or eg. If a 12 year old kid was getting beat up by a 17 year old obviously you would help aswell regardless of the situation. You cant help by waiting til the fite is over then walknig up and saying "are u ok?" thats just pathetic. You get in throw the offender out of the fite and if they dont leave u take over

I was around 60 posts when I got involved in a flame fight and got moderated too :D Then again, that was a flame fight about games so that was a bit more warranted...ah well.

Also sorry for double post but I'd like to mention that I would indeed help a woman if she was being attacked. But at the same time I'd help a guy if he was being attacked too, because in general I don't want people getting ganked for no reason

[QUOTE="Xeros606"]its because of this zero tolerance crap. no exceptions, if you were involved, your getting punished. most schools/districts do it so that they dont have to deal with any legal bs. basically theyre making life harder for you so its easier for them. its total bs.gasmaskman

A nice example to set, yes?

yes lol :|

Yeah, that's how schools are. If you're in any sort of fight, even when your not really fighting. You still get some punishment, pretty stupid imo.

well in most schools there are so many kids that they can care less about 3 students...so no matter what you did, theyll make an example of you....just to scare the rest of the school
