Whoa.
This looks awesome, but freaky.

What religious debate? I'm religious myself and have no issue with this, nor do I see any reason to have an issue with this. >_>
yes but you know there are those OTers out there that will claim these experiments "un-godly"
plus out of body experiences have been claimed to support that their is such thing as a soul, know that we can control it...well...

This is a different kind of out-of-body experience. . . .religious experiences typically don't involve becoming part of a physical body besides your own.

Now you're just fishing to start a debate.[QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]So does this mean that people can stop using out of body experiences as argument against naturalism? That would be great.Theokhoth
Not really, as religious OBE's are different from this.
How so? (Genuine question, I've never heard personal accounts of religious OBE's)[QUOTE="Theokhoth"][QUOTE="Funky_Llama"]So does this mean that people can stop using out of body experiences as argument against naturalism? That would be great.Red-XIII

How so? (Genuine question, I've never heard personal accounts of religious OBE's)Where this was like a person inside another body that could be consciously controlled, religious experiences typically involve moving without control either without a body or in a body identical to the one they have before the experience. In addition, in a religious experience, people almost always see religious figures, such as Jesus or Muhammad, where this experience was like looking in a mirror.
Like someone else said, this is more like tricking your brain than a genuine OBE, but it's still cool.

While very interesting, this doesn't really have anything to do with out-of-body experiences in the commonly used sense of the term. When people report floating above an operating table when they're undergoing surgery, I don't think that's actually the result of special goggles and a mannequin. :P
Nonetheless, yeah, I wanna try this out now. :(

Yes, because using head mounted tv screens to show oneself from anothers point of view COMPLETELY refutes the possibility of the existance of souls. All hail science. Please Log In to post.
