Bone marrow transplants. There was a story a few months back about an AIDS patient who also had leukemia. He got a bone marrow transplant to cure the leukemia, and his AIDS was gone too after the operation.
If cancer is cured how come so many people die of it each year?It doesn't have a 100% success rate and you have to catch it early enough. Doesnt sound like much of a cure. What if we dont catch it early? Person dies. Im sure if someone close to you found cancer in its late form you would be wishing we had a cure.
Actually, cancer has yet to be curable. They can treat it, even put it in remission, but it's not gone, and eventually it comes back (unless the cancer sufferer continues persistent treatment to keep it at bay)
It's just quoting an article in NewScientist, which is not exactly as disreputable a source.

There's a letter from the doctor spearheading the research from October of 2008. It sounds as though clinical tests of the drug are still in progress, but that thus far results appear promising. I don't think it's so much that no one's paying attention to this, but rather that it's not ready for widespread application yet due to the fact that they do not yet understand the possible side effects and the possible interactions with other drugs.

I never said it was a cure, just that your comment that it will come back unless under persistent treatment isn't true. Some yes, but not all. Depends on the type. Colon Cancer if caught early can be removed, same with Skin and Lung.

Your right its not a cure my bad. But you can control whether you get it or not most of the time. But with cancer you cant stop yourself from getting it.
