It's the dailymail, people. *Waits for the united allied internet atheist alliance to show up and proclaim how science once again proves that religion is dumb.*m25105
The irony of religitards is almost hilarious. You play the victims all day, crying about discrimination, yet you're the most intolorant dickheads that ever existed,

I never said anything about discrimination. I think you are missing the spot in the brain telling you not to make strawman arguments. So are scientists/engineers are less religious because they devote their brain and processing power to logic/math instead?

Hey mongoloid, you're the one making a strawman, or you're just too fcking stupid to read an elementary-school-grade sentence. You obviously have no fcking clue on how the brain works (or anything probably, I haven't seen a single religitarded bigot who displayed the intellectual capacity superior to a 5th grader), so go back to sucking Yahweh's cock and leave the science to people who aren't Bible-thumping rednecks.
Nice, so you're changing the subject after your blatant stupidity was exposed. Nice.. nice.. You don't know what my religion is, if I even have a religion and you couldn't even see that I was trolling. Dat intellectual capacity :roll:I am being indifferent. Researchers have discovered the areas of the brain responsible for spiritual beliefs and experiences. It has long been theorised that a 'God spot' exists in the brain and now it seems that there may actually be more than one. "We have found a neuropsychological basis for spirituality, but its not isolated to one specific area of the brain," said psychology professor Brick Johnstone. "Certain parts of the brain play more predominant roles, but they all work together to facilitate individuals spiritual experiences." link I'm not really buying all of this myself, what about people who have no God and dont even know if any God exists?have no "spot" in the brain?FMAB_GTO
Maybe. It just may be a part of the brain that comes up with these sprituall experiences.People that don't have any may just not use them.
I'm not really buying all of this myself, what about people who have no God and dont even know if any God exists?have no "spot" in the brain?FMAB_GTOThere are parts of the brain associated with the appreciation of music, yet there is a lot of variation in the degree to which people enjoy music. In people who don't enjoy music or experience religion these areas of the brain are either not used or (more likely) serve some other purpose.

That's just a theory, and the pineal gland's function is regulating sleep patterns and producing melatonin/beta-carbolines
I know. That's why I said "I heard" rather than just providing evidence as if it were fact.[QUOTE="gamerguru100"]with no good reason to do so whatsoever and having not even seen their research, of course Is there a hair in your ass or something? What's with you?I'm calling BS on this.

seconded.
As noted by Neil DeGrasse Tyson and others, those who are not religious can still have "spiritual" experiences much like a religious believer would. The difference is that we attribute this to an appreciation of beauty in music, being in awe of the universe, etc. rather than some sort of religious revelation.
While again, like Neil Tyson I'd love to see some studies to actually confirm that experience is the same, I would say that any sort of "spiritual" experience I had when I was still attempting to believe has been duplicated and in some ways dwarfed by the secular revelations I have had since.
Half the world seems to be missing 'common sense' spots as well. :\
Kocelot
The problem with common sense is that many things we would think are true based upon it simply aren't. For instance, the sky is not blue, ice is less dense than water, what goes up does NOT have to come down, and vitamins can be bad for you.
If the world were not complex then simple common sense would work, but it's not so generally common sense is used as a way to describe peoples' pre-existing assumptions about how things SHOULD work, whether or not that is actually how they DO work.
I don't really believe this, though alot of studies arn't actually accurate nor scientific at all, alot of them are done just for agenda reasons. According to this then people who don't have "God spots" would be kind of disabeled because that part of their brain wouldn't work, however that's simply not possibe because there have been atheists who have become religious and religious people who bacame atheists.
It's all a matter of faith, though I do think everyone is born with a conciousness and the knowledge of God/Creator. Just some people choose not to recognise it.
