What's your opinion on Sea World?

A Killer Whale killed a woman who fell in his tank this week. It's been on the news a lot..and all over facebook people are talking about how horrible the whale is. Humans kill thousands of whales a year, and one woman gets killed by one and we freak out and suddenly there's all this hate for whales?

I hate Sea World. Trapping whales and dolphins for our entertainment..

Anyone seen The Cove? I recommend everyone to go rent that. It changed my view on so many things.

I don't hold a grudge with no whale but one less person in the world means inheritance for their siblings and a free job vacancy for someone else to fill. Whales seem doomed to fade out in time but the world keeps spinning without either, that's my feelings anyway.

As for Sea World, I went there many years ago during a trip to Florida, I enjoyed my time there, it's fantastic entertainment and I enjoyed watching the things in the aquarium. The animals might not always be so happy but how do we know, I don't think they got it too bad, they can live in there and be fed and have company to float around with or they can take their chances outside and enjoy being the victim of one of ten-thousand ways to die. I don't hang out with PETA and I never watched Free Willy, except when it's flashed in front of my face. The trailers I mean, not someones willy.

Hopefully they will be more respectful to the animals they already have and won't capture anymore in the future

It sort of is exciting. How many times do we get to see Real Orca whales swimming around? Idk I think it's awesome :P

That's what happens when you use WILD animals in order to make money and put on a show. The whale has been in captivity for 27 years which is animal cruelty no matter which way you look at it. They keep a whale who's natural environment is the sea and it's natural life is to travel thousands on miles around the world yet they capture it and then keep it in a bathtub for 27 years.

To be honest I feel more sorry about the whale that the person who has lost his life. What has the whale done to deserve 27+ years in a prison?

Aren't Whales only natural predators humans? Might be wrong but I am fairly sure that they even kick sharks arses in CQB. I would have thought that even then they were a protected species.

I hate Sea World, Zoos, and all that other crap.

I never use to hate them but I visited a Zoo in Asia some time ago and we walked into an area we weren't suppose to be in, and any how we saw some Elephants basically getting beat up. It made me sick to know I just paid to get into the Zoo to see these elephants, yet behind the scenes they get treated like crap.

I'm sure not all Zoo's are like this but still think wild animals belong in the wild.

Sea world makes me sick. Why are people oblivious to the fact that these killer whales are kept in pools the size of a bath tub to them? I just dont get it... How is it legal? People are talking about putting the whale down, which is DISGUSTING. It's a wild animal.

I kind of agree... That is the only obvious answer; release it.

Does anyone know that the original Flipper the dolphin commited suicide? Does that change anything for you? Dolphins and Humans are the only animals that commit suicide. They get awfully depressed just like we can. And being stuck in that place your whole life, the Dolphins and Whales get depressed in there! I mean wouldn't you? They're intelligent creatures, maybe even almost as smart as us believe it or not.

Its a killer whale, no matter how well trained and tame it is something like this is bound to happened sooner or later

While I feel bad for the deceased and the family, the animal acted on instinct and I sure hope nothing bad will happen to the whale

Wild animals should be back to where theybelonged, out in the wilderness

What really pissed me off is that they cut the broadcast of USA vs Swiss in hockey to show breaking news of about shamu killing a trainer. They cut out like 10 minutes of the game to show this crap. YES WE GET IT A TRAINER DIED AT SEAWORLD. It was an accident. things happen. They acted like a terrorist attack just occured. I need to move up north where they give a crap about hockey. NBC BLOWS

It's called a killer whale for a reason.

I suggested they release it, but some girl told me that it knows what it's doing and thus should be killed, I then told her she was a moron.....JonnyEagle

Theres really nothing else they can do now but kill it anyway. If you release it it'll die, and i doubt people will allow it to continue performing.

Well maybe the lady wanted to commit suicide and be original about it.
