These people take pig lives serious. they begin crying, calling the workers murderers and even called their lead man a hero because he wouldn't move after police told him to (he moved shortly after).

So they stand in front of what I'm guessing is a processing plant where delicious bacon seeds are taken after they are fully grown (Mmm bacon) and for some reason think they can stop up to 80 tons of ass with with about 1000lbs of ass. All to protest the slaughter of pigs (bacon)

They keep claiming their protesters were run over and on Facebook they say that these drivers have no regard to animal or human safety. But to me it looks like they have no regard to their personal safety.

Now, these people have every right to protest and hate what they want. But who is in the right here? The driver trying to do his job or the protesters putting themselves in harms way on private property? Explain your answer.

Note* I did this on mobile, sorry for mistakes.

@TheHighWind: I saw the guy in the clear Pancho but it also look liked he got on the ground himself trying to get his poster, because he was pushed way back then all of a sudden he was at the bumper. I just don't see these ppl trying to blame the driver when they put themselves in danger.

"Lets get in front of a semi-truck. That will end well!"

Gotta love how the guy just walks in the way at the last second. Wasn't part of a blockade or anything, just moves in the way at the last second while the trucks starts moving...

@LostProphetFLCL: I know right. They even told the cop it was attempted murder lol

I love the red truck leaving at about 4:56. Big picture of bacon and says "admit it. You feel better now " lol

without a link i can't offer an opinion.

generally speaking it would be the driver's responsibility to not run over a pedestrian, even if that pedestrian is standing in front of your vehicle blocking you.

needing to do your job does not absolve one for running a person over.

Am I the only person who imagined a covered wagon made of bacon running over someone having sex with a pig? Am I the only person that was disappointed that this was not the case?

@comp_atkins: except like the officer said the road is made for the trucks and not for people to jump in front of the trucks. He also said that pedestrians do not have the right of way in 35mph speed zones.

@repetitively: it would depend on the what the particular state's laws are.

from the video the people were not blocking a 35mph road rather an entrance road to the facility.

i think this is in virginia due to the isle of wright county markings on the school bus so

"Virginia- Vehicles must yield to right-of-way to pedestrians crossing the highway at any clearly marked crosswalk, regular pedestrian crosswalk, or any intersection with a speed limit less than thirty five miles per hour. Vehicles entering, crossing, or turning at intersections must change course, slow down, or stop to allow pedestrians to cross the intersection safely and expeditiously. At all times pedestrians crossing intersections have the right-of-way over vehicles making turns onto highways being crossed by pedestrians. Pedestrians may not enter or cross an intersection in disregard of approaching traffic. Pedestrians may not carelessly or maliciously interfere with the orderly passage of vehicles when crossing highways. Pedestrians must cross at marked crosswalks or intersections whenever possible."

1) vehicles entering intersection or turning must change course, slow or stop to allow pedestrians to cross

however

2) pedestrians may not enter or cross an intersection in disregard of approaching traffic

3) pedestrians may not carelessly or maliciously interfere with the orderly passage of vehicles

my guess is if anything comes of this regarding the law, it would be against the protesters for generally being stupid

Good points. It is Virginia as well.

They definitely have no intention of crossing and are interfering with traffic.

How do you feel about their cause?

that's 24 ton vehicle that can carry up to 40 tons of cargo, stupid dumbass activists think the truck can stop on a dime in rain go stand out in the road in front of it and then use that to condemn the meat industry, fucking idiots, I don't see anything wrong with pushing through crowds either, not sure if legal or illegal but I've really no sympathy for the protesters here

not that I don't sympathize against the movement to stop eating meat on its core principal, but the meat industry isn't the place one needs to protest, it's the people who consume it, and one might be more effective appealing to their humanity rather than vilifying them

I don't know if putting yourself at risk is an effective way to protest.

@Treflis: it isn't, but this is an objective for most protesters tho. Make something negative happen, and hope it gains attention. They want someone to get hurt.

I'd be totally cool with PETA if they were not a bunch of liars, drama queens, and distributors of false information. If someone got run over or hurt, I'd wager it was their (PETA's) fault.

With that said, truck drivers should be careful. I know they have a job to do, but this is human life, after all, and one truckload of bacon is not worth a human life.

Actually, now that I said "truckload of bacon", I take it back. Kill the bastard, run them over....GET THAT BACON TO ME!!!!
