Back in '06, there was this mysterious website that people found called "Eon 8". It only had one page, which had the name Eon 8 and a clock counting down. Nobody knew that it was all about, so people thought it was going to be a virus or an ARG or something. On the last day of the countdown, there was a massive thread in OT about it. It was fun coming back periodically to OT to see the anticipation growing throughout the day. Then in the last 15 minutes or so of the countdown, the thread went insane. There were like 40 posts every minute. It turned out to be some weird experiment or something, but I loved the suspense. :D
I really liked whos_next000's "Post Anime Nerds in Costumes" thread. The thread got purged though. I also loved the What's Your Fetish thread, but I don't think it's around anymore.

I remember that. Was that seriously 2006? I'm only 17 but I feel so old now.
Anyway, my favourite thread was the System Wars classic where PS_John was trying to convince everyone he owned a 360. So much ownage in one thread.
That one where the rule was to talk in Yoda lingo. It was awesome. I think Hungry Jello started it. I don't feel like looking for it to provide a link though.
