Petruzelli started training martial arts at the age of 6 and continued on training through high school, where he also was a football player and wrestler and On October 4, 2008, at EliteXC: Heat, he defeated Kimbo Slice in 14 seconds by TKO. He was offered the fight as a stand-in after Ken Shamrock received a cut over his left eye in pre-fight practice and was forced to back out. He lost against Matt Hamill and Wilson Gouveia in UFC and i have 2 questions...... 1. Seth Petruzelli is a rising fighting star? 2. Can he beat Kimbo again, if he faces him again by anychance?

1.)No he was not a rising star, but now I think he can have a chance to get his name out there. This was his first fight in over a year.

2.) Yes he can beat Kimblow Slice anyday because he knows actual martial arts, not like Kimbo who knows streetfighting. And do not give me excuses that he knows more than streetfighting because he trains. If you saw his fights you would know that Kimbo has no defense on the ground and has a glass chin it looks like after that small jab he got hit by.

Honestly, it would be hard to say. He does have better technique (or he actually has any technique) but he isn't necessarily very good in the world of MMA. His fight against Kimbo last night was not his doing; it was Kimbo's undoing. Kimbo had a dumb slip up early on and was buried, like any other MMA fighter could do. If Kimbo manages to come out like he came out in his past matches, he could very well overwhelm some of the younger, mid card fighters like Petruzelli.

He could be a decent fighter, but people make him out to be the next big thing. He is not and will not be the next face of MMA. We have GOOD fighters like Fedor and Anderson Silva to be the face of MMA. And yes people win and lose, but for people to hang on this man's balls still saying he would beat Fedor and Lesnar is a dumbass remark to say.

Lesnar there is a chance. Fedor is a big hell no kimb will need years of training and meditation to beat him.

but with lesnar I can actually see a win.

You could see a win against Lesnar? Lesnar won a NCAA D1 championship in wrestling. Kimbo holds a championship in knowing how to kick people's ass in the streets. Nothing against Kimbo, because he does have a decent stand-up, but I would take the genetic freak that is Lesnar with his power and strength over Kimbo. After seeing the way he manhandled Herring, a 30-plus fight veteran, I see no reason why he could not do the same to Kimbo. He made Herring look like a damn ragdoll that whole fight. As for Fedor, even years of training and meditation will not help Kimbo against Fedor. Look no farther than Antonio Nogueira, Mirko Cro Cop, and Tim Sylvia for examples.

2 factors in this situation have made Seth Pertuzelli a defiinte rising star.

1. Shamrock sparring way too hard before the fight (even his brother said it was an idiot move)

2. Kimbos unbelievable hype.

Yes it was last minute, but all we hear about Kimbo is how he used to challange anyone on the street blah blah anytime anywhere, so this should have been PERFECT for him. Less than a quarter of a minute later POOF down goes Slice. Now granted, MMA is like that and anyone can get in a lucky shot (just ask Serra v JSP) it happens, but Kimbo is CBS's poster child and should have killed Seth. The producers and executives probably felt like hanging themselves after the diaster of last nights show. Itll be interesting to see how Kimbo and CBS react to this almost voodoo hexxing type of bad situation. The hi points of last night were seeing Tito, possibly setting up a Frank Shamrock Tito Ortiz rematch, and the womens bout, which I have yet to see a bad female fight. They need to have 5 min rounds though. Women just stand and fight till they fall, pretty awesome.

But to answer the question, yes this will give Petruzelli his shot at the big time, this is his shot to make it big in MMA. We'll see.

Seth KOing Kimbo punched him a golden ticket to stardom if he can keep it up. This is a great opportunity since he has not fought in over a year.

It doens't matter if Seth wins the rematch or not, what matters is Kimbo isn't going anywhere in MMA.

Kimbo needed that match with Shamrock more than anything. He has a lot of detractors, and he needs to prove them wrong. I call him Captain Hype not because he sucks, but because Elite XC has classified him along the lines of a GSP, Silva or Randy Coture. He needs to win the big fight. And Im no Lesnar fan, but his wresting and size alone would make Kimbo into burger. One tackle takedown, ground and pound, stoppage. Done.

No doubt that match would be quick and easy for Lesnar to win. Unless Kimbo gets a good punch or two, which could happen, Lesnar will make Kimbo's face into hamburger meat like he did with Herring. Remember Herring is one tough guy and only one person manhandled him the way Lesnar did and that was Fedor. Not saying Lesnar is Fedor, but what he did to Herring is saying something.
