This debate yet again. Shaun of the Dead because the first half is close to something resembling a satire. It has genuinely clever stabs at British life instead of just relying on the response of "omg Zombies!" like in Zombieland. To be fair, Zombieland has some very funny scenes too, even if its not particularly imaginative. Shame they underused Emma Stone though.
[QUOTE="squitsquat"]Is it laugh out loud funny? Cus those brits have a more subtle sense of humor lol Its more clever than subtle. You don't have to have some sort of high brow sense of humour to get it.shaun of the dead

I can't remember a lot of it since I saw it a while ago but it has arguably one of the funniest cameos of all time lol
[QUOTE="chilly-chill"]The only thing about Zombieland was the double tap thing. ms555So im sort of getting the impression zombieland isnt even in the same league as shaun of the dead? I dont understand how it got 90 on rt then lol
You underestimate the amount of British on this board

I guess so, hahaha! I always heard shaun of the dead was a classic. But i also know jesse eisenberg is one of the best young teen actors in hollywood right now. Both scored basically the same with critics so thats why i think i expected the winner to not be so obviousThey both have good things about them. Love the double tap thing in Zombieland along with the whole Twinkie thing is pretty funny and the whole Bill Murray part is funny as hell. Shaun of the Dead also has some great things in it. Love the part when they're throwing everything from the house at the zombie and when they start throwing the records is pretty funny. I say get them both...
both are definitely worth watching imo. both are funny zombie movies, just depends on which youre in the mood for
SotD is much more witty while the humor in ZL is more blunt.
basically british comedy vs american.
also, ZL has a lot more action in it
Somebody just mentioned that shaun of the dead starts strong but sorta wears out in the end. What do you think about that, u think zombieland might be better at being consistently entertaining?both are definitely worth watching imo. both are funny zombie movies, just depends on which youre in the mood for

[QUOTE="chilly-chill"]Who cares what everyone else thinks? Just rent both, then get back to us.ms555That would be ideal but a mans got a budget haha. So one will have to do You could proly rent both for $5

What do you think about that, u think zombieland might be better at being consistently entertaining? yeah, i guess it does. things get more and more hectic towards the end, so some of the wit disappears. it's still funny, just not as funny as the first half. now that I think about it, the same thing happens in ZL. there's not nearly as much comedy towards the end, and there's a lot more action going on instead. I guess I'd say ZL is more entertaining since when it isnt being funny, theres the action to keep you interested. SotD doesnt do that as wellboth are definitely worth watching imo. both are funny zombie movies, just depends on which youre in the mood for

Zombieland was pretty boring I thought. The action wasn't good enough to be entertaining, and I didn't really like their attempts at black humor. The wit in SotD and humorous scenarios made it far more enjoyable, while Zombieland was more of a juvenile coming-of-age story.
Shaun of the Dead is one of the best, and funniest, Zombie movies ever made. Zombieland is good but not great.
