The subject matter looks interesting, and people rave about it, but is there any reason the novel might be difficult to get through? The length doesn't bother me so long as the story is gripping and not bogged down by too much details. I'll end up reading it regardless at some point, just want to know if it's the book for me right now.

First couple of hundred pages might be a little slower, but then it reads extremely smooth. Enjoyed it a lot.
