Should Gamespot bring back Total Access

GameSpot should bring back the staff that once worked on the website. I might pay for that feature. It would be like... sponsor a web developer for a day or something. And he'd send you a postcard about how he fixed a glitch and a photo of his new haircut.

I'll tell you this: GS needs to start thinking seriously about changes in its staff, business model...etc if it intends to stick around for any considerable amount of time.

I was never a subscriber because I thought the things they offered were not worth the money they were charging for it.

Even if they reinstated those options I still wouldn't sub. There are better places to get those than GS and I honestly only come here to chat with people, couldn't care less about the actual website's content. As long as I can check when a game comes out I'll take a Youtube gameplay video over reviews and opinions any day of the week.

If there are people that would like this feature then sure why not. I'm not interested though myself.

Yep, I think the poll question and the OP question are different. I would not sub but I would still like for the option to exist for interested people so yes to bringing it back, no to subbing.

I voted no and if GS staff can bring Total Access back but not the layout, then it's poor leadership I'm seeing. Wanna make some changes, GS can start by bringing back the old layout.

Nope. Never subscribed and I wouldn't. Advertising pays the bills and it's easy to ignore. And the old layout had tons of bugs.....they just need to tweak this layout a bit to bring back lost features.

Nothing that TA gave you was any good. Most of it you could get somewhere else. The only real noteworthy thing was the no ads but with things like adblock and ghostery, that feature becomes unnecessary.

If i ever paid for a website it would not be Gamespot at its current form or any other site.

There is absolute no reason to pay for free content.

They can, but I wouldn't even consider paying for it, not until GameSpot makes some changes to how the site functions in a show of respect and humility to the users who make this place what it is.

Implementing privacy features like they had in the previous version of the website would be a great start. A flag feature for reporting private messages would also be good.

Yeah, guess so, (custom color usernames like red/green/blue/etc.hell yeah) but I think I kinda want the level system back first...

And if total access is to come back, I also think GS also needs to be able to input the option of being able to create user-created boards first as well...

Agreed. Both Gamespot and TV.com's peaks appeared to be the 2005 - 2008 days. After 2008 though, yeah, not sure what happened.

they need to focus on bringing back key features we have been asking for since the site redesign before they go about trying to squeeze money out of us.

Yes, definitely. Seriously, Corporate America is greedy enough already as it is. The greediness trend really needs to stop.

To be clear this isn't Gamespot thinking about this, it's something I thought about from the top of my brain.

I was subscribed to Total Access for a month or so years back. I never subscribed again after that expired. I wasn't too bothered when they took it away, but I wouldn't be particularly against them bringing it back eventually.
