Lucas shouldn't be let anywhere near the Star Wars franchise after the prequels.

I think he should. In the extremely unlikely case that he gets it right, it would be absolutely awesome, and if he doesn't get it right, the fans will probably burn him alive for it, so he won't be able to screw up any other beloved franchises ever again. :P

Why would Lucas remake Empire Strikes Back? The fight in the freezing chamber was perfect, not to mention the special effects were better than today's CGI crap.

And I thought yoda looked more real when he was puppet. Seriously, this Transformers CGI Age has got to go. It killed the Terminator franchise and Star Wars.

And Ninja Turtles might I add. They looked like green marshmellows in the new movie.

Lucas need to stop writing period. All he does is ruin everything. He just needs to let the EU authorship take over from here.

NO. NO. NO. This idea is the very essence of bad. It would be an absolute disaster in all possible conceptions in all possible universes. Complete FAIL. Besides, there's no reason to besides to make it look better (special effects etc) but I think they would turn out worse than the originals in most other aspects.

I think you need to rewatch it if you think the special effects were so good (unless they were fixed with the digital enhanced scene release) there were stars showing thru spaceships because the blue screening was a bit crap. and I remember the scene of taun taun running back into base looked particularly bad.

I agreed with this until I was reminded that the story in Force Unleashed was very well written and full of great twists.  I would be happy if it did stop altogether now but it shows it can be done.  I wonder what the live action tv show will be like?

The first 3 movies, or shall I say the last 3 were masterpieces. the newer movies were not entierly terrible but suffer from being dumbed down, over marketed and CGI'd to death.

If they were to make remakes ill never watch them.

Aw man The Hobbit better not suck so I can say LOTR is the better franchise :P

But really, I enjoyed SW prequels even though they weren't masterpieces like the original trilogy.
