Im a ginger and have had to spend most of my life being teased because of my hair

is it a historical thing? i still don't understand it. do you have pale skin as well? i think it's as much to do with the pale skin and freckles, because the ginger hair stands out more like that.
i have no idea. people are idiots.
"Gingers" are generally considered to be inferior to their more melanin-rich brethren, and thus deservingly discriminated against. Gingers are thought to have no souls. The condition, "gingervitis" is genetic and incurable.
Why isnt there a law against teasing ugly people? or fatties? or calling blondes dumb? or assuming brunettes aren't fun, because they're not blonde?XilePrincess
yeah, you know blondes have more fun. it's genetic.

alidsl, I googled "ginger hair", and found an interesting article in Wikipedia. Says some good things, gives great background info.
The condition, "gingervitis" is genetic and incurable.Mr47fitterI have gingivitis. My dentist told me and because of my auburn hair I was like "Hey!" before he explained it was a gum infection :P
[QUOTE="D3nnyCrane"]Red in the head, fire in the bed.XilePrincessUnless the carpet doesn't match the curtains. In colour or volume? :P
I don't see the problem here, Gingers are not people. They are a disease.
Governments should really start hiring more exterminators... filthy vermin are everywhere.
I don't see the point in discriminating a person based on how they look it's the person's attitude towards me which makes me discriminate them not because of how they look!!!
Why isnt there a law against teasing ugly people? or fatties? or calling blondes dumb? or assuming brunettes aren't fun, because they're not blonde?XilePrincessThis is exactly it. It's just trivial, people are idiots. Go on your way and nvm them.

[QUOTE="tofu-lion91"][QUOTE="Brainkiller05"]It's weird... this is a judgement but It's something I've seemed to have noticed on these and other forums. In UK (or atleast where I live) someone with ginger hair, is called ginger... (astonishing I know) yet on forums I've seen people post things like "I have ginger hair but I'm not a ginger" or "gingers are people with pale skin and freckles... oh and ginger hair", which to me doesn't make any sense... I suppose having pale skin, freckles and ginger hair is worse than just having ginger hair, but that doesn't mean you're not "a ginger" Ever said a word so much in such little time it loses it's meaning? :PBrainkiller05I wonder who's post that was aimed at  Being ginger is more than the hair - it's about the skin as well. Somebody can dye their hair red and wouldn't be ginger, they'd just have red hair. And I have auburn hair - it's a mixture of mainly brown, blonde and orange. It changes appearance depending on the light. Sometimes it looks really ginger, but I'm not ginger because it's not bright red and I have a normal amount of melanin in my skin. There is a difference between ginger and red head you know maybe in your world, ginger hair = ginger, hence the name ginger... the pale skin and freckles has nothing to do with labelling someone a ginger. and for the record I have ginger hair.
No the term ginger is for a fare skinned, freckled redhead.
There's nothing wrong with ginger. :'( Except I'm more prone to skin cancer, boohoo. I'm always called ginge though. It's my boyfriend's pet name for me. It doesn't affect me if someone yells "ginger minger" down the road, because I am proud of my freckles and ivory skin.gingefails
 People actually yell ginger at you? Man that South Park episode really made this whole thing huge.

Yes. I went to an all-girls high school. If you didn't have blonde or dark brown hair, you were made to sit in the corner with the weird kids.No the term ginger is for a fare skinned, freckled redhead.Pirate700Must be an American thing, it usually means someone with ginger hair.

I'm British and I think the term ginger describes the whole thing. Otherwise there'd be no difference between someone who has dyed their hair red and somone who is ginger.
That's easily the dumbest thing South Park has come up with. Ever since people have started watching South Park, I've been getting called a ginger. It makes no sense, since my hair is barely red anymore.

I have no soul, so therefore I can't hate.
