Should I bother asking her?

Well, basically there is this girl I was going to ask to homecoming for my senior year. I talked to someone who is kind of friends with her and apparently she wants to go with this other kid, but he hasn't asked her yet. I've talked to this girl for quite awhile, I thought she was into me, but maybe not...

I already had a plan to ask her but I'm thinking I should just forget it. It just sucks because I was ready to ask her and I found this out today.

Thoughts?

If she really has someone else she really wants to go with, don't bother. There is a good chance you will get stood up when she ends up going with him.

I know. I'm actually fairly confident she'd say yes, but the thing is I'd be thinking about if she actually wants to go with me the whole time.

I considered texting this kind of jokingly before asking her: "If I were to hypothetically ask you to homecoming, would you hypothetically say yes?"

That was when I thought she was definitely into me, but I totally just don't know what to do now.

You're the best judge of your situation. If you think you are friends and that she likes you enough to go to the dance, then ask her. If you don't feel that you've put in the groundwork to make going to one of the more important dances of the year feasible, then maybe start a bit smaller and ask her to go to a movie or have lunch with you or something.nocoolnamejim

I think that's what I'm going to end up doing. Ask her to hang out Saturday and see what goes from there.

Well apparently from what I've heard she wants to go with some other guy and her friends are trying to hook them up. Doesn't seem like the best time to ask her.

The only feasible thing to do here is take the other guy out of the picture, whether that be with a broken leg or...shadier methods.

Offer her some wine and discuss the situation together. :P
