No. Definitely no. Wait a few more years, until you're at least 18. Getting a tattoo of a game/GF may seem cool now, but when you grow older I promise you will say"WTF was I thining?!"

The mario is your choice whatever but i would highly suggest NOT putting any girls name on your arm unless its your mom are 100% your daughter.

Absolutely not. Keep it in mind, and wait a year and see if you still want it then. Oh, and yeah. Not girlfriend name tattoos. She could cheat on you next week.

I wouldn't get that either. When you breakup (again part of life at your age or generally any age for that matter), you aren't going to get the tattoo. Get tattoo's that speak about you or designs that you like. Don't get tats about others.

What he said. I always viewed tattoos as art on the canvas that is your body, ergo they should represent you, and you alone. Also, while I'm sure you love video-games, it'll look more and more odd as time transcends and the stereotypical Italian on your arm loses its merit.

No need to change your mind completely, it's just that getting a tattoo of someone else's interests can be a temporal thing, and unless you got the cash for its removal, a tattoo isn't supposed to be a temporary thing. Btw, tattoos are addictive, just saying.

I don't recommend getting the Girlfriends name or the Mario. While it may seem like a good idea now, you probably won't like being 30 years old with a tattoo of Mario on your arm and Unless you marry your girlfriend you'll have her name there too :P

Tattoos are something to really consider and something you can't change your mind about once you get it. They can be covered up and they can be removed, but it is very painful and expensive. If you really want a tattoo, be sure it is something you will not regret. I do not regret either of mine, but they are ofsomething I really like (skulls and H-D). Never ever get a woman's name tattooed on your body anywhere. Your name is fine, but never a womans name, except maybe Mom. My Pops has been married almost 50 years and still has not put my Ma's name in the tattoo he has on his arm.

Something else to consider is original artwork. If you can draw, or know someone who can and would be willing to draw a pic just for you, then they too make acceptable tats. Here is one of mine and it was an original drawing.

Pirate700

maybe you're no longer friends cause you don't have a reminder to share all the good times you had together?

Anyway about the tat... tattoos are permanent and life changes. Still I don't see why it's a bad idea to get a tattoo as a reminder of the good times of your past. They might not always be friends, but they will have always spent that portion of their life together, and that's important.

Anyway I say spend a long time thinking about it. When I was 13 I wanted a Dead Kennedy's tat, but felt I should wait until I'm 18. At 18 I'm really glad I didn't get that DK tat, and the 5 year plan has stuck w/ me ever since. If it's a design your want for 5 years go ahead and get it.

Also your girlfriend sounds like a &^%$#

T_REX305

If you have to ask, you shouldn't do it.

Also, I'm a bit more concerned about getting branded with your girl;friend's name. At least the Mario tattoo could sort of work, since Mario is a classic pop culture icon who is sort of cool (I suppose). Worst case scenario, idf anyone questions you about your Mario tattoo, you can just say that you REAAAALLY like Mario games.

But the whole "tattooing myself with my girlfriend's name" idea shows that you probably need to think this through a little bit more. Tattoos are supposed to be permanent.

T_REX305

but we were friends since grade 1 :|

What does that have to do with anything? Unless you're both adults with careers and wives and children, then chances are you're going to disappear from each others' lives. It happens all the time.

It's like this...a person's life is very dynamic, with long stretches of little change. If we were to plot life changes on a graph, Most peoples' graphs would consist of long plateaus of marginal change, with big peaks and troughs at certain intervals, which represent major life changes. If this guy is your best friend when you're 50, then maybe consider getting the tattoo. By that time, you've probably gone through most of life's peaks and valleys, and are now on a relatively stable terrain which you will wander until you are nearly dead. By contrast, if you're 17, then you haven't experienced most of those peaks and valleys, haven't endured as many relationship-killing evnts, and there's is subsequently far less meaning to saying "this is my best friend for life".

Yeah, it's easy to designate a "best friend for life" when you're 17.

Truth. I am only 23 and I talk to 2 people from my entire childhood. 2! Most of the people I deal with now I met in the last 3 years.

Hell, I'm not even saying not to get a tattoo. I don't think there's anything wrong with tattoos, and I love looking at other peoples' tattoos and thinking, "wow, this is pretty badass".

But tattooing has just become sort of "cool". As in, not in a "this defines me forever and I choose to bind myself to this idea/etc", but more in a "tattoos are cool, so let me think of something that I like that I can turn into a tattoo design".

Tattoos define who you are. Actually, that's not fair. Plenty of people have tattoos that don'tr define them at all, and that's the problem. If you have a butterfly tattoo behind your ear, or a "tramp stamp" on your lower back, or a barb wire tattoo around your arm, or ANY tattoo of a skull, then you probably shouldn't have gotten the ****ing tattoo.

Get tattoos that define you as a person now, and as you will always be. Do NOT brand yourself with images that define you in the context of your friend, your wife/girlfriend, or pop-culture.

Tattoos are cool as hell, but they are also SERIOUS as hell. And there's not a chance in hell I could ever seeing branding myself with an image which will forever define me as being tied to my girlfriend (or best friend in grade school).

I'm the last person who'd advise getting a tattoo.
