Should I let my dogs keep barking at nothing? / What do you do?

As a dog lover, we have many dogs.

(Mainly a mastiff family)

Anyway, sometimes the dogs will bark at absolutely nothing. One time my dog was barking at my sweatshirt. ( I didn't know at the time. ) And as my "Big Protective dog"

As soon as I lifted the sweatshirt the dog ran out of the room so fast and tripping over itself all the way downstairs. -_-.

But anyway, sometimes they just start barking, or one of them starts barking and they all do.

Then there's when someone actually comes into the house (Who we know) they start barking, yet we tell them to stop.

But i've been thinking, if we train them to stop barking... And the time actually comes when they're actually suppose to bark...

What do you think? And what do you do?

Sounds like he needs to be put down. I'm sorry. Barking at nothing is one of the first signs of rabies. Soon, the dog could be viciously attacking you and everyone you love.

Animals have senses we do not have and their could very well be spirits they are barking at. Of course it could be other solutions but that is one possiblity of what you describe.

Sounds like you guys don't discipline your dogs very well. You should watch a few episodes of the Dog Whisperer. That dude knows how to tame an idiot dog like none other. I've got my dogs to mellow out and not bark at stupid **** near as much using some of his techniques.
