I'm not going to do both, most likely. The only reason I'm afraid to watch the anime is if they cut out scenes (no matter how small) or censor stuff. Or change any part of the story or leave out any part of the story. Basically, is the anime 100% faithful? (meaning every single panel in the manga is in the anime)

Depends on which version of the anime you watch, one is slightly more faithful than the other version.

FMA and FMA Brotherhood were both enjoyable to watch.

Watch Brotherhood, is very faithful to the Manga, they cut things, but at least for me, nothing really big, however, if you truly don't want to lose anything, then read the manga.

i think you should watch brotherhood but if you really enjoy reading manga more than watching anime then you probably should read it instead.

Brotherhood is more faithful to the manga than the first FMA was. The first FMA diverges from the manga about halfway through while Brotherhood stays with the manga for the most part. I liked the first FMA a little better though.

I haven't read the manga so I can't speak to that. I would watch FMA Brotherhood over FMA though.

The first one follows the manga for a while, then the second season and movie go off in its own direction. Truth be told it's quite good; it's certainly worth watching. However, Brotherhood is the one that's more true to the manga. For that I say go with both; I've been watching Brotherhood through Netflix for a few weeks now.

I didn't read the manga. Either way, the anime is good.

Never read the comic, but the anime is awesome. Have you also watched Fullmetal Alchemist (not brotherhood)? I watched all the episodes for both on Hulu.

Uhh, slightly? I'm afraid to know what you klassfy as a large difference.

It's called turning a phrase stop taking things at face value.

I'm a stubborn fool who refuses to acknowledge the existance of Brotherhood and clings steadfastly to the complete DVD set of the original series that I was so proud to finish back in 2007.

So, read the manga.
