Can one letter make a difference?

I think we are on the verge of destroying part of America (including the careers of many people I know) by "fixing" healthcare.

So what do you think?

Does one letter make a difference? Can one letter make a difference?

Do I have the courage to put my name before someone important on an issue? I'm scared of politicians because they run the country...

Sure, just tell him you're name is Maria, you're from Argentina and that you're considering moving to the U.S. but are worried about the state of it's health care system. Ask to meet with him somewhere private to discuss things and I'm sure he'd be more than happy to oblige you and answer all your questions.

I've met governors, senators and representatives from my state. I would vouch for their integrity as much as I can...at least, the person I am thinking of writing this letter to.

I have no idea, but from hearsay among people who probably know, he is honorable.

Step back and think about who these people are. People died at Normandy so that we could poke fun at our leaders...at first I thought your post was funny, but now it makes me sad to think that we think our leaders are a joke.

Considering the mess that we New Yorkers have up in Albany currently, you can understand if I'm a bit cynical about our elected leaders.

While I admit his post was a bit crude, and probably since he is a Liberal rather Hypocritical. But I must say that Governor was also hypocritical as well, he was for the impeachment on Bill Clinton at the time he cheated on his wife.

For me I find integrity to be a high point in the Politicians I vote for as if they cheat on their loved ones, what's preventing them from cheating on us.

But I still stand by what I said, writing a letter to your congressman can only help.

Don't bother. They throw those letters away and then send you an automated response.

A 31 to 31 split? I was not aware of that but am reading about it now.

They have stopped voting because these two clowns switched parties only to have one of them switched back. That set off a string of incidents and now bills are no longer being voted on let alone passed. New York has no state legislature right now.

The congressperson's job is to listen to the people they represent, so yes, if you believe in what you are writing about, you should.

Putting a convincing and well thought out economic analysis and persuasive essay in it would help.

That was an assumption, in all honesty I don't know what your political views are. Though your reply was a little harsh for wanting to know weather or not the TC should write a letter to his Congressman. But I must agree that what that Governor did was completely and utterly wrong.
