Should Russia and China have their veto power?

They are obviously cruel regimes that try to block any resolutions in the middle east since they know that supporting democracy in the Arab world would justify revolutions in their countries. Given this, should they still have the power to block any resolutions they want to? And if you do take away their veto power, you run the risk of isolating them, and later isolating all dictatorships. This may sound good, but if this happens the U.N will just become a gang of the democratic world. Its a very sticky situation either way. What does OT think. Should we tell Russia and China to gtfo?

I'm not sure any country should have veto power. If veto powers are a necessary evil though, I think large stakeholders in the world should also get veto powers. Some good candidates would be Japan, Germany, Brazil and India.

absolutely not in fact its one of the biggest reasons we haven't had a 3rd World War now Nations sit and talk things through instead of going all in and letting millions die because of petty little disputes .

to take the moral high ground just because the Chinese have done bad things makes the rest of us look like hypocrites if they get kicked out why shouldn't the U.S for the massacre of Native Americans why shouldnt the UK for its many conquests why shouldn't France for the same as the UK people in glass houses shouldn't throw stones none of us are perfect so none have the right to take the moral high ground .

if we are talking about nation like Saudi Arabia and Iran then sadly we have to have some form of relationship with them if we kick them out it would be viewed by Muslims as an attack on Muslim people as a whole especially at a time when we at war with terror and keeping these people on side is the only way we will ever win .
