It's not stealing if it's confiscated and to be returned to parents.....It's your stuff and it is stealing.

No nobody has the right to do anything... the law is made up by someone who pulled it out of thin air... do whatever the hell you want.... spit on their face. never back down... never compromise what you really believe in. Diablo112688:lol: yeah that'll get him real far in school.
Or instead we get the paddle after class on out bare bottoms like they did in the good 'ol days when kids knew how to behave. Really? If you're stupid enough to have a DS, IPod, dirty mag, or the such during class, that item SHOULD be taken away, until the end of the school day or until your parents pick it up.

In that case, my teachers in high school were a bunch of thieves. I remember one teacher who would take people's cell phones and smash them against the wall right then and there, then took a picture of the smashed phone and pinned it to the space above the whiteboard like some strange trophy collection.
Can't believe he got away with it but the school administration approved of it for some odd reason.

:| Seriously? Why would anyone give him their phones?actually yea i think they should have the right. you are there to learn and have to abide by their rules.
however what i dont think teachers should be allowed to do is search through your cell phone to see who you were texting(they most likely look through more than just texts). pisses me off, how they just go through your personal stuff. thats why if i get caught with my cell phone, i take the battery out ad keep the battery before i give them my phone. that way they cont go through my stuff and they cant ask for the battery cuz the reason they took away my cell phone is cuz it was distracting. if there is no battery in it, its useless.
a teacher tried to take my battery once, but i raised hell, and got to keep my battery.
also pisses me off that teachers think they have so much power over you. like this one teacher gave a kid in my class ISS(in school suspension) just becuase they wouldnt stand for the pledge of allegiance. nowhere does it state that you have to stand and say it. and even some people have different beliefs and stuff like that. cant quite think of the word:P

If your being disruptive with said object then they should take it away til the end of class or eject you from class after giving you fair warning..

Forgive me if I find this extremely difficult to believe.:?I didn't believe it until I saw him do it. Between that and a load of other strange teachers-gone-wild antics, I am still under the impression that the school board was made entirely of boxes of tissue paper with a name written on them in permanent marker.

[QUOTE="LJS9502_basic"]What do your parents have to pick up?dunl12496
they don't never have. Just saying.
What did your teacher take from you? And yes they should be allowed, but not destroy it like mine did.I think until the end of class but none of the your parents have to pick it up crap.
dunl12496
Agreed, they should return it to you after school is over but without the nececity of your parents. In my school if they take a cellphone you have to come on fridy at the end of teh week, nomatter howmuch you parents say to give it to them now even if they go to the main office, you have to be WITH your parent AT THE END OF THE WEEK. Sucks

Depends on what it is. A playboy or woopy cushion sure. A cell phone or computer or the like, no.
Pirate700
cell phones are the worst.
I cant stand people text messaging when youre out to dinner or whatever with friends, I cannot imagine how frustrating it is having some punk or princess doing it in the middle of your class.

I'm gettin old man.Teachers hardly have any authority at all nowadays. Anyways I believe they have the right to take you things because they are a distraction, and probably against school rules to have on the grounds.Teachers think they can do anything. They should be allowed to paddle in elementary. But if they take your cell phone call the cops. They have no right to do that.

And you know, the teacher being there and it happening recently.Should they be allowed to keep it forever? No. But I have no problem with your parents having to come pick it up. If it's just a small distraction, and the teacher tells you to put it away, and you do, then it's no big deal. However, if it becomes a big distraction and you won't put it away, then they have every right to take it away from you. Don't be a child, it's not stealing. Play by the school's rules. It's tough, but it'll get you places.Razor-Lazor
That's what a child abuser would say.
