The backwards culture, and the fact most ME's do not even follow their own religiong correctly, and rise in riots is a problem. Tribalism to. Also the fact that the fall of some dictators in the area recently has caused even more suffering and unorganization. The area is also stuck in the past with most countires and is becoming a dangerous place to be to the point it's not even safe to grow up in or even visit. With many killings.

The solution is to control the area for a test of 10 years under military control until an organized government, regard;less of communism, capitalist, etc. is made for each of the offending countries. Which is almost all of them.

This will bring the nations in the ME current, raise economy and education, and will prevent more vile thinking, which will at this rate lead to long scale attacks that will also become more frequent to areas outside the ME and we will be seeing 9/11 every year.

A country or culture is not barbaric simply due to them having differing beliefs or lifestyles than you do.

Yes starting a large-scale war against an entire region is a great idea.

Because people enjoy having their country, and their lives, being controlled by a bunch of foreigners with guns... Yeah, that'll make them like us more... /facepalm

And what makes you think it would result in anything other than trillions of dollars wasted and a thoroughly enraged insurgency?

Yet they take offense to a video that potrays them as violent idiots, and then they commit violence and act like idiots in responce. because THAT'LL make us like them more. i say it's just payback. Now we are even.

Yup, I'm sure that those countries are just going to let foreign militaries stroll in and occupy them.

If we actually threatened them with violence instead of trying to negotiate with guns and show them we mean business they will comply and no money will be wasted. or at least not as much as you're implying.

That is not why the Middle East is barbaric. It's barbaric because violence is one of the cornerstones of culture there, and it is backed by Islam. Someone saying something that another individual may consider inappropriate, a child considered to be gay a woman dressing somewhat provocatively and a plethora of other harmless scenarios generally will result in some form of violence, and that is not including the more extreme acts of violence such as the recent events involving the US Embassy, or the penalty for apostasy.

We can sit here and say, "Oh, hate is internal and the capacity of violence exists in all of us, so it's no different anywhere else!" This is simply not the case, and it does not address the issue. Religious violence is much, much more concentrated in other parts of the world, but is very wide-spread in the Middle East. I'm not saying that Martial Law should be declared, but please do not sugar coat the region.

EDIT: Run-on sentence and a missing comma.

2nd EDIT: F*** you Glitchspot!

With better weapons they can't stand up against? Do they even have a choice?

How do better wepons combat these?

Guerrilla warfare, IED`s , Suiside bombers, Hidden explosives, civillian shields.

Be sure to let all the worlds armed forces know they would love an answer.

I think so. Additionally, Islam should be abolished and all objects in any way affiliated with the religion destroyed, including the entire city of Mecca. Resisting adherents to Islamic doctrine should be immediately incarcerated. Natural resources contained within candidate nations would be nationalized as payment for services provided by the U.S. gov't via the United Nations. Upon inability to make additional payments to the security providing nations, the operation shall cease, whereby, hopefully, the aforementioned desert nations will emerge from martial law as proper members of western civilization.

Actually, it would be better if the ME put the UN under martial law... if you do a little research into the UN's activities since their inception, and look at how utterly ineffective they are at solving the significant problems facing humankind, from conflict to corruption, to food and water management to how much money they squander and waste, and to every other aspect of their useless existence, you quickly realize that they are, in fact, the ones who need some good governance imposed on them

The ME would be infinitely worse than the UN.

Under continued reflection, rather than allow the Middle Eastern regions to self-govern shall the United States no longer be able to gracefully support them, I am sure that Israel would make a perfect administrative head of the region, making the world safe for democracy for yet another generation.
