I thought the olympics were for athletes? Although I enjoy professional gaming, I don't see it as an athletic man's sport.

That would be very funny to see something like that. MLG is the only thing even remotely close.

why not? they have worse things in the olympics. Such as pin collecting. Obviously not televised as far as I know.

uh no. IF that would happen.

there would be tons of other sports that actually require more physical prowess that would want to be included as well.

Only if they use the Wii. We need real athletes, not armchair athletes.

Some ppl like to use the Olympic athletes as role models and hero's. i don't think the overweight couch potatoes and foul mouth minors will do the event any justice.

Most "professional gamers" are overweight couch potatoes and foul-mouthed minors? Are you sure?

i think they should, it needs something new and i'm not sure if video gaming is the answer but it is world wide so i suppose they could have it, i'm more a fan of putting more games in it like soccar and rugby and putting a bigger focus on them to make it more intresting to watch

Nothing about excercise. Plus they can cheat. especially wii not well made for it.

Olympics is all about sports, running, etc.

pro gaming and great gamers are very different, pro gamers game to the point that they hate the game but keep playing anyway so they can earn a living off the tournaments

i admit i don't know or heard much about these so called pro gamers. Itz cool having a game league but itz nowhere near athletic....and thats what the Olympics is about. i wouldn't mind being in a league myself...they just don't make enough money for me. if they did i'll probably be a part of it and go down in the Hall of Fame for Gaming..

they are, they're pro, the pro are the best of the best they play for a living not for fun, it's not like those people who enter a few tournaments a year they enter all they can and train all the rest of the time, if it did appear in the olympics it would just be the pros no one elese would have a chance

lol, wow ppl are really that serious about gaming. i guess i stand corrected....these events look official and i suppose they do need more exposure, i just don't think the Olympics is the place.

Now i want to join a league too. maybe I'll put together a squad ...depends what the prize is worth thou.

i like the female teams more.....i'll like to put their skillz to the test.

Just imagine some gamers in the olympics sitting down on a sofa playing NBA2K8....then the real players come walking by...shaking their heads in disgust.

These reminds me of my discussions with my friend, the e-athlete. They should never be put in the same category as the Track & Field athletes. It's not like Formula 1 is an olympic event.

No. That would be the lamest sport to win a medal in. You don't even need to get out of your seat. Don't they have their own events? They can just put medals into those.
