Should we continue trying to contact Aliens?

Stephen Hawkings thinks we should not.

Do you think it is a risk trying to contact Aliens because they may invade us or do you knowing we are not alone/possibility of sharing technology outweighs the risk... And I sound like a Sci-Fi nerd.

I've been taking a night class in Spanish in order to communicate with aliens.
