Shut up Comodo! Shut up!

I have Comodo firewall on my computer. it seems to work well, but the thing is incredibly annoying! it asks me about everything! Is there a smarter firewall I can get that isn't so annoying? I'll pay like $20 if i need to, but I prefer getting it free of charge.

One weird and annoying this Comodo does quite often while I'm on firefox is this:

Naturally, i thought it may have something to do with spyware, but I've done tons of spyware and virus scans, and I've found nothing (other than normal ad cookies). Has anyone else with comodo seen this?

Also, what's a good free virus scanner? I have AVG....and i use trend micro internet scanner. Remember I'm asking about virus (or worm) scanners, not spyware scanners.

Well mc afee when I used it was all those things but basically I haven't had pleasant experiences with them, not so much teh product more the technacalitys bundled with it.

Fight fire with fire.

Open Comodo from your taskbar. Click on "Defense+" at the top. Now make sure "Advanced" is selected on the left. Pick "Defense+ Settings" at the bottom. Move the slider to "Disabled." I'm pretty sure that should do it.

Well, there is also a checkbox for "Deactivate the Defense+ permanently" at the bottom. I'm not sure if that is necessary though.

It will be less secure, but the firewall portion will still be fully intact, and that seems to be what you want anyway. As far as Firefox is concerned, the thing to do with any programs that you can trust is to select "Treat this application as: Trusted Application" (something like that) from the drop-down menu. Make sure the "Remember my answer" box is checked of course.

Basically the Defense+ is in addition to the firewall and monitors programs doing pretty much anything to any other files or various other things.

Well, I'm trying to avoid getting into an overly technical discussion, but if you do the Trusted Program thing like I said, it should stop doing it. Actually, for Firefox, you can probably just say to treat as a Web Browser, but it's unlikely that giving Firefox Trusted Application privileges should do any harm, and it might prevent it from asking you about it for something else, so I would just go with Trusted Application.
