Hmm, I've never even heard of it but after watching that trailer I'll probably go see it, if not when it comes out on DVD.
Ill definietly being going to see it, although it has almost a horror feel to it which Im not sure how Scorsese can do with horror.SaintLeonidas
I was gonna say the same thing. I'm going to see it, definitely, but after seeing the trailer, it looks like I'm going to see a horror film. But hey, I'm a horror freak so that's a plus. It still looks awesome though.
Maybe, but Scorsese has certainly been on the down slope of his career. I don't expect much.duxupAre you serious? Which ones didn't you like?

Although it does have points for having Bono involved in it! Personally, i think one of his weakest is the second half of Casino!!

Maybe, but Scorsese has certainly been on the down slope of his career. He has alot of underrated movies too. I personally think After Hours is his best film.

It felt like a very generic biopic that could have been done by any so so director. I was really surprised there. The bummer is there was enough in Gangs of New York and it peaks out once in a while how great it could have been but it felt wonky at times. Scorsese's work is still plenty good, but it just isn't as consistent in terms of carrying the themes thru the film along with the story as his past films. They just seem a bit clumsy at times. Stop to tell the story in kind of a hurry up fashion with no style, then some awesome work, then just phoned in scenes. I'm guessing when he's not able some other dude's are covering for him or something.
Are you serious? Which ones didn't you like?biggest_loser
I'll probably wait for the DVD. It does look good though.Big_Bad_SadMeh. What else are you going to spend your money on?! Transformers 3?!
I already sent an email to a friend of mine to try and get me advance press screening tickets. I rarely do that but I need to see this before people ruin the ending.

He's already done horror: Cape Fear.
That film was pretty much a slasher/stalker flick but with better pedigree.

You consider Scorsese's Cape Fear to be horror? I was never under that impression. I think it's one of Scorsese's weakest efforts. A lot of his ideas didn't work too well, and the ending was dragged on for way too long.Well Gangs is probably the weakest out of those. Although it does have points for having Bono involved in it! I have no idea how anyone could think After Hours is his best film.Mmm, looks alright. I'll pass probably on seeing it theater, but might see it on DVD.chessmaster1989Arent you a film buff? Any film buff should want to see this just because it is a Oscar contender.

Honestly, I'm not a person who sees movies just because they will be Oscar contenders. I see movies that I think look interesting. This one looks alright. If my family or friends go see it in theater, I'll probably go. If not, I probably won't.
Anyway, the film I'm really looking forward to is The Human Factor :D.
And, I would definitely not call myself a film buff, though I'm honored you'd use that term in reference to me :D.
As I read the novel, if you want a hint that could totally ruin the movie for you then click below. Oh, and don't reply to it without also using spoiler tags. Good luck getting the stupid things to work right ;) :
The ending has some elements of the end of The Sixth Sense and of The Number 23.
Actually, the film is now entitled Invictus.

Yeah, I just looked it up a minute ago and noticed that :P.

I have no idea how anyone could think After Hours is his best film.Because its something different compared to his gangster movies and others. I think his 2 best are taxi driver and after hours, but if I had to choose 1 I might actually go for taxi driver. After Hours was just better than most of his stuff to me, I find his gangster movies interesting, but I like him to explore genres more.

There's not much gore, but then Halloween and Texas Chainsaw Massacre had little gore as well.
