Its not as bad as people say....
Although I've never seen it, I heard Cannibal Holocaust is the worst...
Nah it is ok...though you see a live turtle being actually killed...as for worst film...just take a look at my film collection 8)
The Fly. Not the corny 50's one (to be fair, special effects weren't good in the 50's), but the 80's one. Makes me vomit.Video_Game_King
I was just watching that the other day. I saw it in theaters when I was nine, it still freaks me out...especially the scene where the woman has the nightmare about the maggot birth.
[QUOTE="Funkdaddy13"]A Clockwork Orange... Never seen it but I heard it's awesome.EboyLOLIt is a great movie... but did you mean 'sick' as in awesome or 'sick' as in gross? Gross... At least that's what I've heard... Nothing compared to what you see on the internetz these days though...

It is very rough... though I would have to say Requiem for a Dream in terms of grossness...

Guinean Pig: Flower of flesh and blood, hands down. The movie has almost no plot whatsoever, it's about a woman getting hacked to pieces....very slowly.jointed
yup
I am one of the few people to have experianced August Underground, and I see alot of films. Nothing comes close. And to clarify I have seen Cannibal holocaust and it doesn't come near August underground.Samwel_X
Yeah I think it's the #1, but I haven't seen it. And I don't want to. I love Dead-Alive kind of gore, but I hate torture that looks too realistic
Freaks. There's no blood in the movie, but knowing these people actually existed sxares me
Honourable mention to Cannibal Holocaust

Yeah IMO that movie should be 13+. I dunno... it's just fun
Brain dead ;)Xwillz
Brain Dead might be super-gory and the best movie ever made, but I don't think it's sick. It's more funny than anything else. There's no torture or stuff like that

To be fair, I saw the same thing on Man Vs. Wild >_>

Incidentally, that was also one of the most beautiful and heartfelt love stories I have ever seen. That is such a great ****ing movie. One of my favourite movies ever, and I literally weep every single time I watch it.
I think it gets a bad rap as a gross monster movie. It is SO much more than that. It's a meditation on love, life, death, and commitment. It is first and foremost a love story. And not one of the sappy ones either. It's one of the good ones that actually explores the really bad relationship obstacles that people face, such as when your girlfriend is suicidal, or when your husband gets terminal colon cancer, or when your wife is rendered comatose for the rest of her life, or when your boyfriend starts turning into a half-man/half-fly hybrid, goes insane, and then tries to fuse himself with you.
It's not a gross-out flick. When we see stuff like Geena Davis giving birth to a giant 3 foot long maggot, that kind of stuff is a direct and deliberate comparison to everyone's fears about having children. When Seth Brundle gets sick, that's a direct comparison for having to watch your loved one waste away in front of you. Hell, even he says "I believe that it's a novel form of cancer".
Also, keep in mind that there are only 3 main characters...the boyfriend, the girlfriend, and the former boyfriend. That's it. All of the other TINY number of supporting cast only get about 60 seconds of screen time. No one gets murdered. Almost ALL of the film's length is devoted to the relationship between those 3 characters. And 90% of that time is exclusively devoted to dealing with the couple's trying to cope with the boyfriend's horrible affliction.
Jesus, even te classic "insect politics" scene, where Seth Brundle says "I'll hurt you if you stay." That's powerful stuff, not at all inherent of the grossout horror genre. That's a basic human fear, the recognition of your own weakness and the utter sense of feeling like you have any control over it. Fear not of how you act, but who you are. The utter sense of hopelessness when people can't measure up to what they need to be, and other people end up feeling hurt as a result of it.
The Fly was simply AMAZING. It deserves classic classic status. It is one of the best "sci-fi/horror" movies that te world has ever seen. It is uplifting and sad, hopeful and tragic. It is pure and simply about love. The love betwen one particular couple, sure, but also about love in general. Hell, if you have any doubts about this, consider the movie's structure. It begins, literally with a man meeting a woman. It ends with him dying. The first scene we see is when they meet, the last scene we see is when they part. Between those two bookmarks, the entire movie is devoted to how they fall in love, how they find out that he's sick, and how being sick affects their relationship. And that's it. That's a ****ing love story if I ever saw one.

The concept and the concept only. Gore-wise, it's pretty tame compared to other films. The novel is way more graphic than the movie, and that's not even banned. :|
