Assuming this hot girlfriend is more than a "hit it and quit it" ordeal and that this hot girlfriend is a woman I really love and get along with, I would save the girl.

the best friend. Since I will be considered a hero, and get a medal or something. Then the hot girls will come flocking to me and I wont have to deal with the hassle of finding a new best friend

I would just wonder why they couldn't save themselves like I was and grab the supply of cheese. After the sinking of the ship they both miraculously survive and end up getting together living happily ever after and cutting me out their lives. O well at least I have a lifetime supply of cheese.
