I haven't either but I was watching Freh Prince and Aunt Viv was pregnant and she went and sat on the washing machine. I have heard it from another source too.
Well when my brother was little, my parents put him on the washing machine, turned it on and he would fall asleep. Maybe something about the vibrations from the machine induce a relaxed state in people.
I just sit there with my book to see when my load finishes. Normally I put huge loads in at a time and hope it doesn't overflow and leak stuff everywhere.
