I usually dislike thrash, but I do like a few Slayer tracks; like Black magic, Angel of death and Raining blood. I have a lot of respect for their influence, though. They've inspired countless bands.
Something I've noticed: every time there's a thread about a popular band, the people who dislike the band post more than the people who like it. I'm one of those people! Can't stand Slayer. "Blood Red" is alright.

Slayer's a pretty cool group. Not one of my favorites, but they have some good albums. I've always been fond of their songs "Altar of Sacrifice" and "SS-3".

Know em', own every one of their albums except the one that is all punk rock covers I think or something, I know there are a ton of covers on it, and that includes their new album "World Painted Blood."
Absolutely love them...And oddly enough, I am listening to Fictional Reality by Slayer right now. :P

I think he's not a bad guitarist, not the best in the metal, and certainly not one of the best in music despite his opinion. He is, however a lulworthy egotistical prick He's very "Slayer is the greatest thing to grace the world and always will be." I cannot stand those certain "Slaytanic" fans. I do love Slayer and enjoy rocking out to them, hell I probably play 3 or 4 Slayer songs a day, but I'm not the guy who goes down the street yelling "SLLLLLLLLLAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEERRRR!" I'm more like "Yeah, Slayer is really good." That's not to say that if I ever see them in concert I won't mosh like no tomorow.

At the last Slayer concert I went to with a friend some guy came up to us and asked "hey were you just at the Slayer concert?" I replied calmly "yes" and he proceeded to yell Slayer at us, so I yelled "**** YEAH!" back at him and he suddenly stopped and said "wow you're the first person to ever say something back, most people just think I'm some dumbass or something. Yeah man!" and he gave me a high 5. He then yelled it at someone else but they just walked away and he turns back and says "see what I mean". Ah, twas a good night.

I'm not really a fan though. I can't standing the "constant yelling" kind of screaming. Everything else is fine.
