I don't like metal but I'm sure a lot of frustrated neckbeards will mourn this person's death.

That's too bad. I'm not much of a metalhead, but Slayer was a band I always liked despite my general disinterest in the genre.

That sucks. I saw Slayer in 2010 when they performed the entire Seasons in the Abyss album. Will listen it again in his honor.

Well.....shit. I knew he was pretty out of it with that spider bite... but had no idea there were other issues as well (I knew something had to be wrong after two years, though).

F*ck.

Funnily enough, I just listened to the whole Reign in Blood album. But I think I'll throw on a few more.

Here's to him, anwyay.

Necrotizing fasciitis. The legend died of the flesh eating virus.

Google it and you will discover it's a plenty metal way to die.

49's a decent run. It's a lot longer than many people get.

And with that Slayer should call it quits. I'm sure they won't because it's this big money machine, but they should.

Kerry King probably assassinated him, one more step to monopolizing Slayer, you're next Tom Araya. But in all seriousness RIP Jeff.

I've seen Slayer 7 or 8 times, both as headliners and openers.

My favorite concert, to this day was Slayer and Pantera in Philly several years ago.

Everyone was assembled with all the bands - Dimebag, Lombardo... all the original memebrs were with their bands.

Now Dimebag and Hanneman are gone.

Sucks.

Very sad to hear. Even though I don't really listen to metal much anymore, Slayer was the first band I ever bought an album for when I was little. Saw them live a few years back also.

I think the fact that Slayer is/was everything that the WBC hated makes it a fitting tribute to Jeff to have them once again trolling the death of a great person.

The WBC are a microcosm of what's wrong with the world and what Slayer is/was so strongly against.

So true. Jeremy Allen 1 month ago I remember when I was in school it was kind of taboo to like music like this. most of my friends didnt get into it but years later they were into heavy music lol I presented this stuff to a lot of my classmates and even older ppl that never heard of it. My peers ending up liking stuff like this 10 years after I introduced them to it lol

I don't think 49 is enough, especially if he were a father or grandfather. Life is short.

To my knowledge he had no children, but my point stands - it's a lot longer than a lot of people get, fathers or not.

Ehh, he probably would have been kicked out anyway by Kerry King and the management for wanting the band to actually keep more than 10% of it's income.

Honestly, in my view, I find 'Reign In Blood' seriously overrated (ugh, I just used a term I normally hate). It is, to me, two good songs bookending a bunch of short filler material. 'Hell Awaits', 'South of Heaven' and 'Seasons in the Abyss' are all much better albums I think.
