SNL is Desperate

After seeing some of the skits tonight, I know how desperate they are now that the election is over.

SNL has been bad for awhile, but never this bad. :|

I haven't watched it tonight because last week i just sat there and shook my head for half the time in disappointment. I mean first they drag unfunny sketches out way too long, and then they show that stupid super target sketch. i mean honestly WHO finds that funny. NO ONE.

MADtv isn't much better these days.

There's nowhere to turn for good sketch comedy.:(

SNL is, and has been awful for awhile because they focus on the wrong things. First off, they dont have good writers. All they write is parody sketches. Parody is good, but not when its all you've got. Secondly, they dont get good performers, and they do not emphasize performance anymore. What ever happened to actually learning your lines, and learning how to deliver, instead of reading off a cue card the whole show?

This is how bad SNL is: The average cost of each set they perform on is 35,000 dollars. Yet they cant get good actors. They should scoop up some of the people from Second City, then they would have talent.

Agreed. MadTV is pretty "meh" other than that.

Being that MADtv is being cancelled after this season, It's the only option for some people.

I didn't know that, but I'm not at all surprised to hear it.

I can't even sit through an episode anymore because it bums me out so much to see how far it's fallen.

I think both were trying to be the Chappelle Show.

Neither come close, but Chocolate News is slightly more tolerable to me.

Sorry it took so long...had to go to the can. But, here's the proof.

Often, when the audience laughs on the show, it sounds phony-- a kind of awkward laughter that people do when a joke isn't funny, but they're aware of the punchline, nonetheless, and still laugh, anyway.Martin_Stuart

A lot of sketch shows like SNL prompt people to laugh. It think that defeats the purpose of trying to amke good comedy in the first place. That's why I love Mr. Show. The sketches were crafted extremely well, the performances were done with great effort, and the end product was real funny material. And when the audience laughed, it wasn'nt because a prompter told them to, it was because it was some funny ****!! 

I don't mind SNL. It hasn't been stellar, but it hasn't been the filthpit MADtv has been.

Then again, I'm a fan of "The Lonely Island" style of humour, and with that trio on the acting/writing troupe...

lol I know eh? I was thinking the samething, I would have thought small font is used for to fit in large texts of paragraphs but just for a sentence? Anyways back on topic, SNL is done for and it has been for a long time. It's not a great show at all.

They still once in awhile hit one out of the park though

They should just let the Lonely Island Boys run the show.

Tim and Eric Awesome show has great comedy you know.

The only skit I actually laughed at was the Single Ladies music video with Beyonce.

Beyonce: It seemed a little crowded.
Justin Timberlake: We're the dancers.

MadTV wasn't that bad yesterday, but I loved Lil' Joker and his auto shop.
"Oyele! I'm jus' jokin'! *big eyes*" Old Skit
