I want to get them while they're on sale, but I don't know which to get. I want the best bang for buck.

For boots I'm looking for lace cable ones so you just turn a knob to tighten them up, no tying necessary. Other than that, I just want them to be padded and comfortable.

For bindings I want some that have the bottom strap go over the toe area, not the strap that goes accross the middle of the foot. I don't know what this is called, but I've heard you get way more control over the board with this.

I'd go with Airwalk boots. Actually, pretty much any brand of boots should be fine. But for bindings, do NOT get Lamar; they tend to fall apart easily. Burton is a great company for snowboard gear, although their products tend to be amoung the highest priced.

Also,go to a shop that specialises in skate/snowboards or a sports store for advice. They usually know what they're talking about. Do not attempt to adjust the bindings to the boots/board yourself unless you have done it before. And make sure the boots are not too big for your feet; you don't want to pop out of your boots on the middle of a hill.

What kind of riding are you going to be doing?

And having a toe strap on the binding is really not that big of a difference at all i have a pair of bindings now that can go over both and i never have it at the toe.
