So i'm currently on a working holiday (From the UK) in Whistler, Canada.

Whistler Mountain opens tomorrow (12 days early) so i figured i'd make a post to see what everyone thinks about snowboarding / skiing in general, your views and/or experiences etc.

Fire away!

I've wanted to go skiing in whistler, but the closest I've gotten is Fernie :P. The only problem are the people who sit in the middle of the hill :x

Once you get suited up the cold means nothing, you won't even feel it and you can roll around in the snow to your hearts content :D

Yeah, you really don't feel the cold unless its like -25 outside. Then it gets really cold, and the full face protection comes out :P

Whats the best time of the year to get the good powder over there? How good is it? I really want to go, but funds say otherwise.

Snowboarding.

I had to make that choice a couple of years back and I don't regret it.

You'll have loads of fun, trust me

I hate skiers. If I see any of them weaving in front of me, I'll try my hardest to try and plow them over. Snowboarding for life! 8-)

Christmas Break or January is usually the best.

Whistler is ridiculously expensive. So work on those funds ;)

Well Whistler is composed of 2 mountains, Blackcomb and Whistler (hence anything you see in Whistler says, WhistlerBlackomb). Now each mountain alone is bigger than any other resort in North America, combine the two and well. Let's say you cannot ski every single run in a week long stay..that's for sure.

So Whistler Mountain opened today and IT WAS AWESOME! The runs were perfect! Most certainly not what you'd expect from the first day of the season (Considering it opened 12 days early too)
