feral dogs. Thats right. A pack of 16 wild dogs attacked, mauled, and killed 2 elderly people in the outskirts of my hometown, Fayetteville, North Carolina.

These weren't wild animals, they were domesticated dogs that turned feral, gathered into a pack, and then murdered 2 people.

Its a tragedy, and I love dogs, but it shows that no matter how far we go in domesticating wild animals, no matter how many generations are bred for servitude, they're still animals, and they'll still kill us in a second.

Has anyone ever heard of anything like this happening where you all live?

Kind of ironic when you think about the fact that no healthy wolf has ever killed a human.

There is only 1 solution to this problem. Organize a hunting party armed with AK47's and hand grenades.

Yes, the subject of other persons' deaths is always hilarious. And no, I've never heard of anything like that happening. The fact they got together and formed a gang is pretty neat, though.

I saw this on TV the other night, it was just so random, and as tragic as it is I couldn't help but laugh a little, I mean feral dogs? Come one, that's something you'd hear in a movie. I hear they live in or around an abandoned house in the woods.

Let me rephrase it then. There is no record of a healthy wolf ever killing a human and yes, I am comfortable making that claim.

Do you trust people? People have been known to do things like this in with large groups of people too. The term "crowd mentality" exists for a reason.

Of course we are. But people like to believe animals are cute and fuzzy and lovable when they're none of those things. They're animals, and they'll kill people in a second if they think they have to.

People like to believe their next door neighbour would never kill someone until he has a gun to their head. People will kill you in a second even if they don't think they have to.

This was back in 2001. Two mastiff mix dogs mauled a woman in the hallway of the apartment building. The owners blamed the mauling on the victim's scent. Crazy stuff.

I really wouldn't say domestication was the problem, but more so the fact that those dogs prolly had a bad past and... well, they need to eat. It's sad what happened, but I'd say there's more things to worry about in the wild than dogs.

A pack of feral rottweilers once trapped my grandparents in their car and wouldn't let them go in their house. Finally they left after about an hour or two.
