How do we know for sure that they're from God ?

[QUOTE="clayron"]Who the hell knows? Could be the bible or the Qur'an or some combination of both or neither. Unless God comes waltzing out of heaven we will never know.spazzx625I always imagined he would tango...Just goes to show you that beliefs can be different... But the waltz is much more elegant. However, God is about flashiness so you may be right about him tango-ing.

They are both from God, with the bible preceding Quran. The problem with the bible is that there are a lot of different versions and according to the Quran, the early christians manipulated its contents. I know a lot wont agree or be happy with this, but this is what i believe in. GazaAliNothing wrong with believing in that. As a Christian, I honestly would not doubt it.

I believe the Bible to be.

Why you believe the Bible is from God but not the Qur'an ?
I'm not currently in the mood for a long religious discussion that will end up changing neither of our minds. I believe in the divinity, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ as recorded by the Bible. Laugh if you will, but I do believe in the credibility of the New Testament. I do not believe the teachings of the Koran as I do not believe that the Muhammad was any sort of a divinely inspired prophet.
Both are derived from abrahamic religions. The books were written by humans but words of God. Thing is (im not trying to spark a debate), Bible has been tampered with over the centuries, while Quran has not.
Neither, unless God one day started to write them by hand and copy them up in his own factory.TreflisI think it was the Kinko's down the street
Neither... considering they were both written by men. And due to humanity's "imperfect" nature, it would be impossible to perfectly recreate the Word of God, or possibly even understand it in the first place.
This is getting old, really old. Try and come up with better things.[QUOTE="GazaAli"][QUOTE="argetlam00"]
Fictional characters like God can't write books. They have books written about them by a man with a great imagination.

Only thing that is getting old is people believing in fairy tales and daddy figures.
I find it really pathetic that some people have the urge to mock others beliefs. I mean how much can someone be insecure :roll:Having read both The Old Testament (Torah) depicts far more believable and flawed human characters. Those in the Koran are depicted as Perfect Muslims, it's just not believable for me. Thats not to say that The Torah is super believable though. And of course I'm just talking about literal interpretation.Meinhard1
The Old Testament is the Tenakh, actually; the torah is just the first five books.
This sums up my feelings quite nicely.Neither... considering they were both written by men. And due to humanity's "imperfect" nature, it would be impossible to perfectly recreate the Word of God, or possibly even understand it in the first place.

I find it really pathetic that some people have the urge to mock others beliefs. I mean how much can someone be insecure :roll:Why not? Would you take someone who has absolute faith in flying dragons or santa claus seriously? Religion is an enemy of humanity IMO. Throughout history, it only served to distrupt human advancement in science and government.

*Cough Islam was a pioneer of chemistry for hundreds of years cough*
You'd think enemies of humanity wouldn't have so many human followers. Like, you don't see 6.4 billion people praising disease or a nuclear holocaust.
Neither. Even if both started out as the true word of god... They have both been changed rewritten and translated so many times that what it was originally or meant to mean in the first place is completely gone

Funny how islam actually backs up some of the science, especially the biological part of humans. Just shows how little people know about Islam or any abrahamic religion. Its evident enough that majority of the people here are sucked into the press and believe anything that is thrown at them from their TV screen, and look what its lead to, stereotyping religions. A new world of racism

It does? What science does it back up?Both where written by the followers of God.
Though as I recall Qur'an was supposed to be a copy of God's words.

thats actually not true. The arabic in the Quran remain the same till this day. Its merely the translations that are a little different with different use of words.

The same goes for the Greek and Hebrew of the Bible.
